Any thoughts on selling for this division? Aquamantis and Plasmabade look like cool toys, but the product portfolio and indications seem a little thin. Anyone with some experience here?

Not sure which BU this fits into. Think it's a relatively new division. Both products are the result of acquisitions in the last year or so.

They fit into ST in Europe. Cool products, plasmablade is amazing for Bx's and lead revisions/extractions.

if you're new to device sales its a decent start, if not...avoid. people are leaving due to a new comp plan, lack of leadership, and no new products.

This division blows, any lacky could sell this crap. The CRDM reps and CS's are helping them see the docs and department directors. If it wasn't for them, these idiots couldnt sell water in the desert.

You mean the CRDM reps that are about to go through a RIF? Seems like you should spend your time selling....

CRDM's are nothing more than a pharma rep

You're right. Making $200k working 2 days a week is a real bitch. I'll take it all day long!!! That's what you were trying to say....right???

Just got a call from a recruiter covering Chattanooga, part of Knoxville and Cookeville, TN. Any advice on this territory?

There is absolutely nobody in your division doing that.

Any advice on the Chattanooga/part of Knoxville and Cookeville territory? The recruiter is saying that some folks are making $300k-$400k there first year in this division...yet the first year at plan number is $160k-$170k. $300-400k seems very generous. When asked what % of their reps are hitting their quota....he didn't know. Any insight is greatly appreciated..

Anyone know what the avg comp is for this position? Only thing I herd is given a draw of $7,500 per month. Are you paid a flat comission rate for every $ sold or is it based on growth?

If you make anything over 35k for selling a bovie pencil with a saline drip you are flat out stealing. Where is the data that this reduces Blood loss? Length of stay? Transfusions? PAD? Dont come into my office with a piece of meat to show me this turd again.

Yeah, you don't have an office so I wouldn't worry about that.

The devices themselves are actually pretty great to use, but the Plasmablade is effectively dead after the latest RIF. All the sales training was being done in Portsmouth, and the reps weren't learning how to sell the Plasmablade properly, so they just kept selling Aquamantys, which has lousy margins. Sales didn't hit their inflated targets, so CA R&D was let go 4/30 (not sure how that makes sense, so yet another example of Medtronic turning its back on an acquisition). Without R&D, the Plasmablade has about 3 years left, tops.

Agreed the plasma blade was way over valued since most of the reps were selling this at either ridiculous low prices or relationship. That's probably why the peak reps were given extra bonuses that weren't given to the Salient reps so that they really don't lose their ass on it.
