Good luck to all those who will be losing their jobs in the spine RIF.

Why is anyone on the sales side at MDT Spine at risk? This is news to me.

We are losing share and Omar isn't happy. This is going to be ugly.

It's all about managing the bottom line due to ongoing loss of market share and declining revenue. In an increasingly competitive spinal market, we don't know when or if it will ever stop. Small competitors launch more innovative products more frequently and at a faster pace. Major competitors continue to invest in R&D, marketing, and sales to maintain or grow market shares. Worry won't help. Just have to be aware and prepared.

A lot of the problems are with management. They alone can fix the monetary problems that reps face when goals and commission rates are changed. There's a handful of managers that need to learn their lesson that the people on the ground are a bigger part of the equation than they think and should be compensated accordingly or else they will lose the business. Simple. This is a pay to play space.

Yes, this is a relationship business. Management hasn't figured that out or doesn't care.

how long can we continue to shift things around to manage the bottom line? At some point you need to amputate the limb.

From what I know, the change has been limited and few affected up to this point. Would be curious to hear more though.

How many is a "few"? Sometimes we lose perspective with this massive reorganizations.
