I'm not really into the negative vibe so here is a more positive topic. Who is currently the most respected person at Amgen.

My guess is Tom Boone who took over the honor from Dennis Fenton and Fu (Mr. EPO) prior to that.

I'd vote for PMc in Quality. He has straightened out the QA department. Morale is up. He can seem tough but he really cares about the employees in his organization.

It's a tie between Philip Tagari and Bill Harte.

Larry Souza made a few enemies when he was there but the science was better in his time.

I will throw subtlety to the wind and say, yes, I was joking about two of the biggest jokes in pharma/biotech management.

Don't forget Janet Cheetham, if you're trying to be really sarcastic.

Larry led the charge to not bid on Herceptin years ago. He was also responsible for rejecting the opportunity to get involved in Cialis. He nearly derailed Neulasta.

Sorry, but none of the above. Here are some clues:

    1. Took over Immunex to stoke his ego
    2. Ramrodded Aranesp in an effort to boost sales, but....
    3. Installed cronies to BOD
    4. Made a "Tommy Lee" style production in the board room

how many companies can boast of having a CEO who can destroy $40-50B in equity in 12 months?

Now that is to be respected.
