Interesting, direct from the Merrill Lynch site:

    Key management meeting takeaways
We hosted management meetings last week with TRNX’s CEO, Dave Mowry,
and VP of Finance, Jim Erickson. Management was confident that TRNX will
deliver on its promise to return to double digit pro forma revenue growth by the
end of the year, and points to three leading indicators driving the optimism: (i) the
salesforce realignment initiatives (establishing dedicated upper and lower
extremities personnel) continue to progress on or ahead of schedule; (ii) the
OrthoHelix integration will drive incremental top line synergies, as the OrthoHelix
portfolio is rolled out in Europe in Q3; and (iii) new product launches in 2H13 will
accelerate growth, led by the full launch of the Ascend Flex shoulder in Q3.
    Salesforce realignment on track
TRNX’s salesforce and distribution network overhaul has been a key area of
focus over the past 18 months, as the changes have been responsible for much
of the volatility and deceleration in TRNX’s revenue growth rate since the
beginning of 2012. While much of the initial realignment initiatives that began in
late 2011 / early 2012 involved making wholesale changes to TRNX’s distribution
    network (ie, converting distributors to direct sales models in some regions;
entirely swapping out distributors in others), the current focus is no longer on
making major changes to the distributor base but instead on ensuring that the
company has sales reps dedicated to selling only upper or only lower extremities
products – a less disruptive part of the transition. The bifurcation of dedicated
upper and lower sales reps will allow reps to focus on the two different call points
who utilize TRNX’s products (shoulder specialists and orthopedic surgeons for
upper extremities; podiatrists for lower extremities).
As of the end of 1Q13 TRNX had transition agreements in place for dedicated
upper and lower sales reps representing 21% of US revenue, and remains on
track to have 60% of US revenue dedicated to upper or lower by the end of 2013.
Management feels there will likely be a 1-1.5 quarter lag before the dedication of
sales reps to upper and lower extremities truly translates into accelerating
revenue growth (reps will first have to be trained on the complete product suite
and will then have to train docs), and so in management’s view it is too early to
notice any momentum from the transitions that have already taken place.

So what is your point? It looks like ther is an actual plan.

Where are we actually growing with a direct sales force? How much business have we already lost in markets like Texas and Oklahoma? The illusion I read in the long post above is smoke and mirrors.

I am in it for the long-run. You guys that bitch all of the time need to move on..
Try Arthrex. I hear that are tyrants to work for (Right Ronny?) Oh, how about Wright? They seem to have a little turnover these days.....Maybe you Ankle experts can sell the Inbone? just a thought. Wait an minute....SBI is always looking, but they cant seem to get their commissions paid in a timely manner. Oooops silly me.

"How about grabbing a rifle and stand your post" a quote from a Few Good Men. Ironic that a few good men are in short supply on this message board.

We can make this work. The view is better when you dont have your head in you ass.

There you go again, Terry. Actually you are not in it for the long run. You just proved again that your Rutgers degree was worthless..."I hear that are tyrants to work for". I could correct more of your stupid dialogue, but would be boring to correct all of your mistakes. The "stand with your rifle by your side" comment is hilarious. Do us a favor and shoot yourself in the foot with that fucking rifle. Oh, I forgot...you already did. Go pound your pud in front of a mirror, rather than here in public, dumb shit.

A few good men huh? We got this company to where it is because we stood our post and hunkered down for the long haul. Now your here, destroying what took us so long to build with zero consideration. Your right, why should we be mad? Just go ahead and sink the ship we'll be quiet.

Terry, you are clearly not known for your intelligence, so please don't try to impress us by looking up words in a dictionary and trying to correct others. Go pound your pud again in front of the mirror some more, because none of us care to hear your pathetic patriotic bull shit speech about calling us to arms to be real men. You are a loser, and you are part of a succession of weak management losers that has run this company into the ground. We lose all respect for Wall Street to think that anyone actually bought into the company's bull shit about returning to double digit growth in a quarter or two, after you re-align 60% of the sales force. The sales force you had is what made this company. Unfortunately, those days are gone. You and the dicks before you destroyed it brick by brick. Go beat off with your rifle in front of your mirror. Get the fuck off this board, douchebag. You may want to actually call your fucking distributors and develop relationships with us rather than hiding on this board with your pump me up "we can do this" speech. Get a pair of balls.

I interviewed with this guy a while back for one of his AVP positions, and I have to say it was probably the most awkward interview I've ever had. I had met others in the company, who were all very pleasant and very positive on the company and on me - meeting with him was essentially the final step. Well, he was about an hour late for our phone call, cutting our time very short, and immediately confrontational. As a sales professional I can generally carry a conversation with just about anyone, but this felt like the most forced and unnatural discussion I have ever had as an interviewing process. I've interviewed a lot of candidates in my career and a few times have just found a way to cut the interview short and let the candidate know it wasn't going to be a good fit rather than humor them and waste their/my entire 60 or 90 minutes; and putting the shoe on the other foot as the candidate myself I was so tempted just to cut him short and excuse myself from the interview. He came across as a total a-hole. The feedback on our talk was that he didn't think I was a fit... Uh, no shit! I have never been less disappointed. I could only imagine what actually working for him would have been like. The sad point though is that his skill (or lack thereof) and awkwardness at this level of leadership is surprisingly not alone. There are many more just like him at this level at companies small and large. I'm just glad for my sake that it I didn't make the cut. Now working for a competitor, his name comes up all the time - and never in a positive light.

Thanks for this great post above. It was refreshing to read this honest assessment, which paints the picture of Terry Rich very accurately. Amazing to think that the company would put someone in such a position with absolutely zero people skills. I think Terry's degree was in labor relations, but in actuality, he can relate to no one.
