If that’s the case, then why are we tearing down the statues of Frederick Douglas and Ulysses S Grant? And, if you want to tell the story, then tell the whole story - Free blacks in America owned slaves, as did Native Americans. As did other people all over the world. To take today’s rules and apply them to a world 200 or 500 years ago is a fool’s game. And the world, not just the US, was explored and conquered time and time again.
