there was the time literally every single employee spent a couple of hours a week, every week filling out timesheets and it took over a decade before we realised nobody ever used the data & stopped collecting it.

Let's not forget when VoIP telephones were already in widespread use in the home for years, not to mention in business but Merck was still spending big bucks every month on internal telephone calls with AT&T.

Prague is awesome! They drink and party all night and hold meetings that start late and end early. Nothing ever gets done, but that is the point. It is a load of fun!

    What about NotPetya remediation?

ITIL. What were the travel, expenses and training costs for the roll-out of this across the company worldwide when we could have achieved the same at zero cost by sending out a glossary of terms to everyone in IT so we all used the same terminology for the processes we were already following. Also who looks at the methodology a government came up with for managing their IT and thinks, those guys really know how to do IT well, let's follow that.
