    any news on the job interviews. I was suppossed to have one next week. However in light of the drug not getting approval and may not see the light of day until possibly not year. Has the company made any decisions going forward? Thanks

    Okay. Guess I have to be more specific. I am not stirring up trouble. You dont evenknow me so dont make accusations. I got an email from Ms H in HR requesting if I was available for an interview the week of 7/26. Is that more specific for you????? I am waiting to get her response but in light of the situation with the product it appears that interviews may not go forward. Sorry you did not get an email from her.

    National Sales Director / National Sales Senior Director

    Job Description:

    The National Sales Director/ Senior Director is a newly created position that is responsible for creating the Vivus sales team and launching Qnexa for the treatment of obesity.

    Responsibilities:
    • Create a vision and strategic plan for a newly formed national sales team for Qnexa.
    • Fully understand the compliance and FDA regulations for sales and marketing pharmaceuticals and controlled substances.
    • Be able to analyze current obesity and co-morbidity markets and prescribing patterns, from the specialist and the primary care perspective.
    • Devise territories, sales FTEs levels and optimum structure.
    • Recruit and hire sales manager team, sales training manager, sales support and sales analytics management.
    • Engage, evaluate and potentially select contract selling organization for hiring of initial 150 representatives.
    • Build strong relationship with Marketing and Market Access organizations in Commercial.
    • Flawlessly execute sales tactical and launch plan to meet/exceed Qnexa forecasts.
    • Develop well thought compensation plan that drives Qnexa sales performance and rewards/motivates team.
    • Partner and/or co-promote agreement for further market expansion post-launch.

    • CSO Oversight (if utilized)
    • Sales Analytics and Compensation
    • Sales Support
    • Sales Training

    Competencies:
    • Proven leadership and direction of large pharmaceutical national sales team calling on Primary Care.
    • Well developed sense of sales force strategy and team building experience
    • Thorough understanding of compliance and promotion regulations
    • Leadership with a vision and ethical value set
    • Ability to manage effectively with time constraints
    • Launch experience
    • Proven ability to influence and inspire team performance
    • Budget oversight

    Preferred Skills:

    • BA/BS required
    • 10+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech sales and management
    • Metabolic or cardiovascular experience preferred.
    • Proven track record of managing outside vendors, recruiting, adhering to timelines, managing budgets, and building sense of team
    • Demonstrated success on a diverse and collaborative senior commercial team
    • Travel Required

    It will be a great job for about 1 year until company gets bought by some big pharma. It is a shame because company culture will be wonderful, people will love working there and hen big pharma with its deep pockets and desire to replace patent cliff products will step in.

    CT was a disaster in Amgen. He got fired from there. It was really bad.
