Nah! It's the old we're going to expect more out of you and more cooperation. The old "dance around the Maypole" speaches. You must be new!! Quest lost it's core value of innovation years ago. Same old tired crap in new tin foil.

That's funny. My wife works for a big pharma co. and they had no problem at their sales meeting booking single rooms for everyone and this was in a resort hotel in Breckenridge, Co. If you are responsible for organizing a sales meeting, and you can't book single rooms for all your sales force then maybe your working with the wrong hotel.

Negatives about Shared Rooms on Business Travel

Employees should never be asked to share a room with a coworker, not under any circumstances including saving money during tough economic times.
Employees who travel for business to benefit their employer should be treated with the respect and regard that they deserve. This includes privacy, a place for downtime away from coworkers, and the opportunity to relax and rejuvenate without having to worry about the opinions, feelings, habits, and stuff of a coworker.

Possible violations of ADA by placing an employee with an accommodated medical condition in a situation where he or she does not have full privacy for the medications, medical equipment or room accommodations they may require. By requiring employees to share rooms, you violate their privacy and may cause them to disclose medical information they don’t want to share. Even if you require sharing rooms, an employee with a medical condition should be able to ask for a single room.

It is good to know the most intimate secrets of co-workers. Blackmail can be handy.

It is noway illegal, so I doubt there will be any lawsuits. It is a national business meeting not a vacation.

It's not a meeting, it's a forced adult slumber party. Eeeeww...

Forcing adults to room together at a company sponsored meeting is not illegal. The issues arise when employees' privacy is compromised and personal details such as medical conditions are revealed as a result.

Says who? You? There are NO legal requirements regarding sharing rooms.

So ... it can be illegal? Are you saying it's only illegal when privacy is compromised and medical conditions are revealed? If so, then it begs the question, why would a 9 billion dollar company risk these law suits. Legality aside, this idea reveals a great disrespect for the sales team and incompetency of those who made this decision.
