Was contacted about a neurosurgery opportunity. Word was Integra owns the market in this respective space. How’s the management and pay? 200K+ first year is what it was marketed as. Any real insight appreciated.

  2. Integra has Neuro division?

    Truth:
#1: You can make $200K plus if everything falls perfectly and some people make $250K plus. There are two different plans, high performer and standard. It take two years at plan to get moved to the high performer plan. The standard performer plan is closer to $170-$180K.
#2: The car allowance is far below industry standard.
#3: The benefits are below industry standard. #4: You will be treated poorly by your manager. #5: You will be micromanaged. They are currently tracking how many brochures you hand out and to who.
#6: You will spend a great deal of time on Salesforce.com doing useless paperwork to satisfy management.
#7: You will have your job threatened regularly and the company makes good on its threats. #8: Turnover is high for a company that pays what they pay and is not looked at as a bad thing because reps are considered expendable.
#9: Most reps are looking to leave.
#10: Integra does not dominate the space, but has a large bag that gives it a large footprint. However, Stryker and Medtronic are generally more respected by the customers. Stryker just launched a new Sonopet to compete with Cusa and it will be as good if not better and will be 30-40% cheaper.
#11: This is a capital sales job that has a disposable component, but you won’t be around long if you are not completely focused on moving capital.
#12: The company struggles to get its sales reporting right.
#13: If you choose to come here, do not ever voice an opinion that differs from the current company line.

If you are comfortable with all of that, then pursue the position. But if you do, keep your resume up to date. No one stays here long.

The person who posted this is an ass. The Neuro position is one of the best in the industry. Is it hard at times? Yes. Is it stressful at times? Yes. But if you’re any good you can make a ton. FACT: I make a lot more than the Stryker rep in my area and nearly double what my Medtronic rep makes.

And to the person who said “Tissue Technology runs this bitch”; you, too, are an ass.
Neurosurgery blows you away in every category. Frankly, the OTT reps I’ve interacted with are terrible.

  5. I’m no ASS, I’m Stevey McGee, and I know TT blows you Neuro chumps away cuz this is the only job I’ve ever had in my career.

Well, the “Ass” is right about everything they said. Nobody said you can’t make good money here. You can. You just have to be willing to accept all of the other garbage that comes with it. This is not a highly sought after job. People don’t leave $250K jobs like they do here. It sounds to me as though the person calling people asses is more than likely a manager. Probably one who is trying to fill one of the several open neuro jobs. That’s the way they speak to people and how they manage.

    Wrong. I’m a rep.

If you’re being micromanaged; it’s because you’re not a good rep. Stop crying about the shit you can’t control and focus on selling more. If you do this, you’ll accomplish two things:
    1. Make more money
    2. Rise above the “micromanagement cloud” you’re in.

Lastly, we don’t have as many openings are you make reference to above. A few here and there - which is par for the course.

    Me - 1
    You - 0

Definitely a manager. No reps share your views on this place. I’ve never heard anyone defend the negative culture here who wasn’t one of the people creating it.

    To the OP,
I think you just got the answer to your question.

What do we have here?! A juvenile one upper at best. Oh looky me, I gave myself a point cuz my argument is far from valid and you’ve got none. I sir denounce your point and give it to the other guy just based on how freaking gay of a comment that was. Piss off Clown

Year another great comeback from senor Chachy. I hear by charge you with negative points, you’re a disgrace to CP, your ability to troll has been revoked from the very poor performance displayed, and may god NOT have mercy upon you.

In the last 12 months the following areas had turnover and I’ll bet I’m forgetting a couple.

    Dallas
    Houston
    San Francisco
    Columbus
    Pittsburgh
    Philadelphia
    St. Louis
    Miami
    New Orleans
    Milwaukee
    Chicago
    Eastern Tennessee

Let’s not forget 3 managers, 1 of the 3 Hydro Specialists and and at least one or two of the Capital Specialists are gone. Of the 17 people who are no longer here, all but 6 left by choice. Out of a salesforce of 100, that’s more than a handful.

Great bag to sell. Terrible, terrible culture. If you are able to get one of the Codman managers, they will shield you from all of the dumbfuckery that goes on above them. If you get a legacy Integra Manager, those arrogant & clueless inbreeds pass it along.

Dead on. It can be a great job, all depends on which manager you get. It pays very well but Integra thinks because of that they can treat you how they want; which is like you are an easily replaceable rep. Because of the overall culture of this place, Integra will never get out of its own way and reach its full potential. They think their products are SO superior that they don't have to budge on price, which is not a good mindset for what is becoming a commoditized space. You can sell a CUSA and miss your number and you will end up on stage. You can blow out your number and not sell a CUSA and you will be looked down upon. They will pound CUSA, DuraGen, & DuraSeal down your throat all day long and don't give two s**ts about the $1B Codman products they bought. I was making $250K there and walked away, that's how bad that place sucks the life out of you. I took a position with a bigger company, making just as much, and have a great culture and manager.

Rumor is the legacy Codman employees are fleeing Mansfield in droves. Is it true?

I left 3 years ago for the same reason. I made 275-350 for 4 years, was over quota all but one year in my seven year tenure and still couldn’t find happiness. I constantly worried if I didn’t sell a CUSA I was doomed. I hope for my friends that remain the clarity has made it easier because it could have been such a great job otherwise.

I witnessed a head to head demo of the Clarity & Sonopet IQ. Although both have their advantages, 90% of the docs/residents couldn't get away from the IQ, they loved it! I don't think this is going to go well for Integra. Maybe they will then realize CUSA doesn't make the world go round.
