also remember that if you fail to report any damage to the vehicle you are responsible for the total amount. Don't get into an accident further than 250 from your home....

All that I have mentioned this to are appalled, no spouse and limit to distance...

Unless you get in an accident or are stupid enough to use your gas card over 250 mile away, they will never know. That simple.

look at Baxter's annual results posted last week. Sales were not up significantly, but profits/margins were up and Wall Street liked what they saw. The new company car policy is just one example of how Joe A. is lowering expenses so that he can make the numbers look good. Why would he take such a short sided approach that will catch up with him? Simple - he wants to sell the company. His remarks to the investors stated that he wasn't done making cuts so expect more layoffs and the cost of benefits to go up.

You should stop speculating. If you are extremely concerned then find another job.

I believe the policy has been changed: There will no longer be the 500 round trip limit, however still no spousal driving privilege. The monthly deduction should also be reduced.

Justification from a corp exec....this is still ridiculous, no spouse. there are no other medical companies that have this type of policy. Avoidance of liability to reduce the cost of insurance and provide greater numbers to wallstreet.

This is ridiculous to not allow spouse to drive the company vehicle...

Would you rather have the stock price go up or your spouse drive your car?
Why do you think stock is up?
What happens when all layoffs, cost saving measures done and have to rely just on real growth?
