Did we really steal our new corporate tagline from a pizza joint?

Papa John's has been using the tagline "Better Ingredients. Better Pizza." for at least 20 years in Indiana. Did we hire some second-rate consulting firm to come up with "Better Science. Better Lives."? That lack of corporate intellect and innovation here is astonishing.

I have to agree, whoever came up with the Better Science, Better lives tagline was a complete marketing idiot. People will be making fun of this one for years to come.

A better one would have been:
    Older Men. Older Ideas.

How many times will we spend lots of money to image consultants to create a new tag line? Remember "Answers that Matter". That really inspired us. I guess that it's Davey's turn to re-image the company after John did, and John did after Sidney did. Hey, here's another idea - can we spend more money to slightly tweak the Lilly logo, then lots more money to create new signs, reprint our stationery, etc.

That's nothing. At the last Pacers home game, both Lilly & Papa John's had their ads on display. There was a short period that both ads appeared side by side. The laughter around me was hilarious. I doubt very much that they were laughing at Papa John's. Doh!!!!

So a company that touts itself as INNOVATIVE, can't even come up with an original tagline. Is DR really Homer Simpson in disguise?

Lilly needs to rent billboards all over the world and put the new motto over a picture of two old people in separate bath tubs, now that would be innovative.
