How will the new hires be effected by the merger? Are they eligible for the retention bonus or any of the other merger ‘benefits’?
In theory they do qualify for the retention and severance. They could also use a loophole and excercise their option to terminate you without just cause during a 120 probationary period though. I have heard they can even extend the probationary period and other slimy tactics
They’re not going to do that! However the severance will be low due to only a few months to a year of service. Good luck.
