Just want to provide potential employees with the newest comp structure from Patterson.

Realistically, unless you had prior dental experience, your offer will be around 52k for a TR position. With the new structure, your base will decrease 5% each of the three years. After year 1, commision will be 5, 6, then 7% of gross margin.

For example, after that first year your base will drop to 49,400. Assuming a 52 base. If you're starting out from a scratch territory (all of you probably will), then you will need to sell an additonal ~160,000 at. 28% margin.

I understand this is a move to get reps to sell more, but that's tough with a scratch territory and shitty accts. For example, the rookies in our branch sold around 200k after that first year.

It will be difficult getting reps to stay when they work so hard for no real increase of personal income. The future looks dim for a company invested in human capital. This is officially entry level now. Way better gigs to make more money.

Sell an additonal 160k just to maintain your base salary? Ouch that's a slap

When will you losers understand retail is dying ?

They don't need you and the customers that are busy don't want someone off the street to interrupt staff to order cotton rolls. If you think some bozo retailer is going to offer business advise to a professional care giver

    Give it your best shot.

$ 52 k per year. Stock up on Ramen noodles.

The train is coming and they just don't want to see it. They can not understand that the market is not the same when they were "carrying a bag".

Did they talk about any changes in the Dental Equipment Specialist salary? What is the average base salary for this position? Thanks for the help!

True, sundries can be bought online but still many practices don't want to. How much time does it take to take inventory and order? The busy professional care giver should not be doing it. Also, many of these professional care givers are just that, care givers, not business people.

I did the job for about 3 years and many customers I had turned around and were trusting me. In the end it wasn't going to be worth it for me.
