I am interviewing for a position with Cardiva. I heard from an old colleague of mine from company's past that Cardiva is going through a downsizing or has recently gone through one? It was the first I heard of so just wanted to double check before I move forward with my interview.

Hope you didn't accept a position. Device doesn't perform as marketed. A lot of complications that the company gets real creative in language of how to pin it as operator error rather than own that it doesn't work as they say it does. They stand by their data that is not real world result and reproducible. It's a putting out fires kind of job. A lot of rejection. Company attracts new to industry talent that knows no better, those looking for a temporary position while letting non-competes expire, or the majority being those who can't get hired elsewhere. There are some shady characters who work there. If you are desperate take the position, but don't stop looking.

What device specifically are you referencing? Vascade?

You should run as far away from this company as you can. Here, I'll give you a little look at what you can expect....
    • First, start with the leadership. They are as deceitful as they come. Will lead you to believe that everyone loves Vascade but its a lie. Doctors hate it. The ones that use it without complications are few and far between.
    • You'll get a plan that's not realistic. It's based on numbers that Cardiva stole from ex-Mynx reps that they've hired. You cant see the data, Roger Owens will tell you about it and you simply have to "believe". Oh, did I forget the best part? Count on the last day of EVERY month to be like its the very last day of the year, you've got to pester every Cath Lab manager or SC contact you have. asking them to release any invoices they have so Cardiva can squeeze every last penny they can because they're so hard up for revenue. My manager asked me to call my cath lab manager at 4:30 on Good Friday afternoon trying to release a $950 invoice.
    • Did I mention there is no reimbursement for closure? The patient actually has to foot the bill for what amounts to a $200 Band-Aid.
    • The training program is a joke.
    • Vascade doesn't work as advertised. When it fails, get ready to look the physician in the eye and say "its your fault".
    • Oh, they can and will fire you without a moments notice. If you numbers dip, they drop you and hire another or just re-focus resources to one of the few markets where Vascade has a little share.
Run as far away from this company as fast as you can!
