Abbott reported worldwide sales of $7.4 billion for the first quarter of 2018, an increase of 16.7% versus the prior-year period, helped by new product launches. Net earnings on a GAAP basis came in at $418 million or $0.23 per share, down slightly from the prior-year quarter. On an adjusted basis, EPS was $0.59. Worldwide sales in the Nutrition segment increased 7% while sales in the Diagnostics segment grew 58.7% during Q1 2018.
