I have been told that they are not enforceable in many states. Is that true?

I am more than happy to sign a non-compete, so long as Corporate signs an agreement TO compete!!!

When you join Zimmer, you must sign a non-compete agreement against Stryker, J&J, Biomet, Wright Medical, etc. Meaning, you vow NEVER to compete effectively against anyone in the same industry. The fine print suggests that you will become incredibly arrogant and babble on endlessly about the "big blue Z" and you will accept being led by a bunch of ex-GE glory holes that know nothing about orthopaedics!

Not likely. It's a race to the bottom and Zimmer is way out in front...

the new comp plans/commission will be tied to 100% compliance of non-competes....

Unfortunately, most companies don't seem to get the fact that the most effective non-compete is the creation of an environment in which no one wants to leave. In the absence of that, coercive techniques have a reverse effect and just pummel morale.

"...creation of an environment in which no one wants to leave..." Good concept but it doesn't exist at Zimmer, far from it! Run from this place, it is a complete disaster.

Ever wonder why Zimmer is so adamant about non-compete agreements with its employees? Voluntary turnover is at an all time high so, the idiots at Zimmer are attempting to clamp down and stop ex-employees from joining competitive companies. Why don't they try to make Zimmer a great place to work and stop this mass exodus? Senior management just doesn't get it, time for a big time change at the top.....
