I'm looking at them -it seem like an interesting company. Have you gotten any info on the comp plan and their reputation with surgeons. And are you looking at a direct position or a distributor? Thanks

OP here. It a direct opp. The info gathered to this point made it sound like a 1099. I have asked a couple of spine reps; they seem to be indifferent about the company.

Even with a direct opp they set you up as 1099? Do they offer any base/car/ben's as a direct rep? I am looking as a distributor and wanted to know if there is any difference of the comp/ben's. Did they talk to you about the what type income to expect the 1st year? Thanks

Anyone have info about Nuvasive-there seems to be alot of open positions for a small company. Any ideas of their comp plan and competition vs Medtronic and others? Thanks

They have some unique products, lateral approach for a lumbar fusion. You will be battling the big boys and the relationships they have (Medtronic, Depuy, Synthes) with teh surgeons. They are also going to have a lateral approach soon so that won't be much of an advantage. IT will vary on areas and how loyal the surgeons are to the current reps. Seems like a good company with good products, not sure on the compensation. Wall Street Likes Them!! Good Luck~

Great company with excellent people. Growing with creative product line which sets them apart from the competition. Also, unlike the competition, they specialize in the lateral approach, where as other companies lack people that have adequate knowledge to walk surgeons confidently through the procedure. Would not miss out on an opportunity with Nuvasive!

watch out for these guys. They opening another building this summer, hiring a mass amount of employees and giving tons of bonuses to current employees. This also just posted
"Nuvasive senior VP exercises options for 3000 shares". I see potential layoffs in the year to come if they don't slow down.

I've heard the same thing. They give out money like it's nothing and let their employees have pretty flexible work schedules. It's surprising anything gets done there. I found another article about someone in corporate selling off shares
Nuvasive Inc. chairman and chief executive Alexis Lukianov exercises options for 20,000 shares -- January 11, 2008
The chairman and chief executive of medical device maker Nuvasive Inc. exercised options for 20,000 shares of common stock, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. In a Form 4 filed with the SEC Thursday, Alexis V. Lukianov reported he exercised the options on Tuesday for $3.75 apiece, then sold all 20,000 shares on the same day for $38.66 apiece.
    So much for this company.

Word out of AAOS is that NuVasive is going to make a major acquisition in the next few days...any speculation on who?

In my area, they can't keep a rep. The manager demands to know which surgeons you are calling on and see if they will flip from Medtronic or Stryker! Like hell. Nuvasive should get bought out. 50 K base.....who wants that? I'd rather be in pharma!

Currently working for Medtronic Neuro and wondering if anyone knows recruiters for the northeastern area...currently in Southeast and may have to transfer up north for family reasons. Please post only serious replies please.
