I am in the process of separation from my employer and have received instructions from my company to review the OWBPA before signing the severance agreement. How important is it to have an attorney review the severance letter? Since all employees are schedule to receive 2 weeks per every year of service should an attorney review this letter?

I would not sign it and would not accept the package unless yo are ready to be out of work for a very long time. I would definitely have it reviewed by an attorney.

I was laid off by Teva and took their package. They laid off all the older workers in the US. We had to sign that we would never say that or testify against them. My old job is now open and I applied for it. It is the same territory. I did not even get a phone screen!!
I am 54 years old and I have now been out of work for a year and a half. I am single with no income.
