That the way this is being handled will just add to the already depleting reputation that Novartis has....year of the field my A**

That we're on the chopping block.... EC, SEE, and Xiidra reps all fighting for very limited spots

Based on leadership announcement today they are gonna cut the hell out of the salesforce. This is not going to be fun. A lot of good people will be out of work.

The joys of big pharma! I’m sure Novartis will screw this up. They have zero relationships with O.D.’s nor do they really care about doing anything about building one. They are giving a lot of lip service like they care, but mark my words mkt share will go down with Xiidra before it will go up and it will be a long hard road to climb with what Novartis “thinks” they know. Especially if Sam is in charge.

Do we think most of the jobs will go to Novartis reps or Xiidra reps?

Of course Novartis...any rep is easy replaced. Always better to be the buyer and not the sold.

I launched Xiidra and l guarantee that the MS goes way down and never fully recovers until 2021 if leadership lays off the majority of the Xiidra sales force. Nothing against the legacy NVS reps at all. But Xiidra is a beast like no other when it comes to getting the product pulled through. The relationships we’ve built is what makes this product what it is.

Most xiidra reps have zero interest in working for Novartis and at this point are just waiting for a severance. It will be an absolute blood bath for both sides, but at least the xiidra side is ready for it, and many hoping. Sales will absolutely plummet until Novartis manages to get Medicare coverage and you’re right, physicians are going to be LIVID. Especially the ODs... their distaste and lack of trust for Novartis runs deep.

It’s. A. Freaking. Drug. A good one that can stand on its own no matter who is selling it.

And no offense, but legacy has the same relationships as shire reps do. And it’s a beast to get pulled through because coverage SUCKS, which now we can see what novartis can do on coverage...

Yes. Eye care reps with ZERO relationships with O.D.’s...makes total sense.

Lol yeah ask the first round of reps shire hired about that one. They were giving the first month away free still couldn't grow trx share. You Novartis reps dont have a clue what you are getting into.

anticipate 200 field reps from the roughly 700 today - it is just logical. Know our good colleagues with short tenure will leave. Those who have been there a while - doesn’t matter which side - are smart to wait for a package or ask for it. Those who can’t leave - well - are probably stuck and have a job.

Is there really a redeeming value in Novartis to stay?

And thank you for that brilliant and quippy comeback!

Just wish they didn't draw it out this long... They announced layoffs in that town hall in early July. News gets worse every week, and for reps to have to wait until the end of next week is killing us

I just got hired into this division from an outside company? WHY would Novartis give the green light for new hires knowing they would have massive layoffs?

Because there’s a sucker born every minute.
