Wow that Quintiles arrangement must have really worked out. Keep seeing Exact resumes, though truthfully the reps operate more like pharma and I wouldn't trust them to sell a CBC.

 

After the meeting, I was surprised with how pharma centric EXAS really is.. which is odd for a diagnostics DNA test.. Yikes to putting diagnostics into the hands of green pharma reps.. I think it is dumbing down the product, which is a wonderful DX test.. It gives EXAS the reputation of being pharma, especially with a co promotion.. Maybe the strategy will do great! Listen- we manufacture a dx test.. Therefore we should be working through distribution channels that are more common to the dx industry.. Look at immunocap, cytyc thin prep, surepath, abbott-FISH testing just to name a few... Let's give the test the justice it deserves and up the prestige and quality of who we let sell it.. I wonder how the thinprep/cytyc tesf would've turned out if it were not marketed through commercial lab reps and put into the hands of pharma instead.. Obviously, the strategy is quanity vs quality.. Something to think about folks.. Hire more dx people, they get this, the end result is order generation of the test.. Not cheerleading the test..

 

Don't understand your distaste of Pharma but most of the field force sure seems like it has successful experience in it. So you want to stir the pot and call those with prior Pharma experience cheerleaders but from the perspective of someone who has worked both sides diagnostics sales really isn't different from Pharma. With the exception that it's much easier to get a diagnostics sales position than it is to break into Pharma. We all just left Phoenix where there was a lot of cheerleading going on from the management team so what's your point? Remember the managers hired everyone in the field force so at least they have confidence in all of us no matter what our background is. Sounds like you hate the Ironwood copromotion already simply because it's a Pharma company and it hasn't even started! Let me guess your next knockdown will be that the company is located in Madison and is Madison "centric" therefore everyone there is a cheese head idiot and can't match up to other diagnostics companies because it's not an east coast or west coast based company. Hate on and please move onto another diagnostics company where you will feel more comfortable. We don't need your negativity or your pot stirring.

 

AMEN!!! Go away, I like this company and what they are trying to do. Its not just about selling a test, it's about innovation! And if you don't get it we DO NOT want you here.

 

I think they have their act together.. i do thonk dx people have a deeper understanding and Ive done both, there is more patient focus and servicing vs pharma. Not knocking either

 

Then what is your point? You are backtracking now that you realize you stirred the pot? You lump people together based on their previous experience vs. by skills such as customer service. Pharma called it the total office call. Patient focus? Pharma invented direct to patient advertising and many disease awareness groups and patient ed. You are so stuck on yourself you fail to see the greater picture. Hope you are not management because you are a bigot against pharma. Guess any of us from pharma will not be considered for future advancement if everyone is anti- pharma here. Signs of trouble already and been here for only 15 days. You are a cancer that needs to be removed before you spread your belief to other dimwits. Sales is sales.
