California went rogue when your moonbeam leaders thumbed their noses at federal immigration law and proudly enticed illegals by codling them in your sanctuary cities and later sanctuary state. When you openly work against the best interest of the nation, you declared ownership of your problem. There in lies the major difference. Texas outlawed sanctuary cities, and given the opportunity, there are enough people here willing that they could quickly persuade illegals that attempting to invade at Texas would be very bad decision for them.

PS - example - in CA we vaccinate anyone - no questions asked. It's a matter of self-protection. The vaccine is paid for thru federal VFC funds, the administration of them is funded by the state.
