Anyone heard of them? I've seen their sales reps all over in Texas. Seems like cheap products at extremely cheap prices for docs at surgery centers

They are beginning to have a presence in the midwest, but if you're w/arthrex I don't see anything to worry about. (They are metal only....if that helps)

These products are horrible. If your surgery centers have no idea how they get reimbursed and base what the surgeons use strictly off price, you are toast. These anchors are $80 and metal.

They make it sound like they are offering "value" but really they are just trying to take over former Arthrex accounts. The 10,000 lbs gorilla just entered the room. Arthrex filed suit on April 15. Don't place any bets on Parcus being around long.

    Game Over:

Arthrex Inc. announced that it has filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against Parcus Medical, LLC. The lawsuit alleges counts of misappropriation of Arthrex’s trade secrets, tortious interference with contract, and tortious interference with business relationships, according to an Arthrex press release.

The company claims that Parcus Medical willfully misappropriated Arthrex’s proprietary trade secret information. Arthrex further claims that Parcus Medical intentionally caused former Arthrex employees to breach their confidentiality agreements and wrongfully interfered with Arthrex’s existing business relationships.

“Arthrex is committed to developing innovative products that help surgeons treat their patients better,” John Schmieding, general counsel of Arthrex, stated in the release. “In order to continue that innovation, Arthrex will continuously and vigorously protect its proprietary and confidential information worldwide.”

Parcus is made up of past Arthrex employees and people who sold their businesses to Arthrex. Probably not a good idea to step on the toes of the people who bought your company and made you rich. Anyhow, Parcus raised a few million in start up capital. That could be drained very easily if this turns into a long term legal battle with an international orthopedic giant like Arthrex. Probably won't make new funds easy to obtain until this is settled. Parcus might think they have a "niche" offering lower priced produces and increased profits to surgery centers, but they offer nothing truly superior or unique and if they run out of cash, the stock options they are offered you to switch over might not be worth anything AND your Arthrex rep might not be running over every time you need something anymore...think before you switch. Is it worth the small margin that you might be gaining?

Former Arthrex people aren't the only ones involved. Many are former Smith and Nephew Disbtributors and reps. And most of the products seem to knock off more on the side of Smith & Nephew than Arthrex. Unless you think their knocking off the Retrobutton and not the Endobutton.

Arthrex does not have a single idea of their own so why do they get some mad when someone comes after them. The company was founded off stealing ideas from everyone else and they still do so. Also, most of their salesforce is SoCal came from Smith and Nephew so why are they being so hypocritical. They are already ruining the sports med industry by hiring too many reps making 50k each so might as well let Parcus cut out the rep completely. Docs dont really need a rep there to put in a simple anchor do they

Reps generally don't play much of a role in these cases anyhow. Surgery Centers and Hospital are trying to cut costs any way they can. Buying direct, cutting out the rep/middle man is the wave of the future. Everyone will stock their own. MD's will think they are going to make more on a case using cheaper products or make money off the Parcus stock options the got for switching when Parcus takes off. However, IF Parcus survives, everyone else will do the same thing. They didn't invent anything new, they are simply undercutting the cost by producing them in Wisconsin. For this concept to work, the savings are going to have to end up reducing the costs to the patient, not putting profit in the pockets of the Surgery Centers, Hospitals, Arthrex, Parcus or anyone else for that matter.

Arthrex has to be kidding. Most of thier products are copies of other companies products. Just look what they are doing in Foot and ankle. I also know they try extremely hard to bring over competitive reps to convert their business. They try to bring on competitive surgeons with lavish trips and bogus consulting agreements all to try and get their business and gain insight into compeititve systems.

Well said...Arthrex really copies every companies decent products then waits for a lawsuit. Then they do some completely bogus in house test proving that their product is better. They are actually doing very good with this approach but it will catch up to them sooner or later. Most of their good corporate people have left and thats why they havent came up with any good products in a while.

Why does Bart Bracy have yellow teeth, which I noticed at the AANA meeting last week? Oh, yeah, I forgot...they are yellow from being a former sleezy greedy Arthrex rep. That's what makes your teeth yellow. Watch them when they smile.

If Bracy the front man for Parcus, they are in trouble anyhow. He has no college degree and basically is nothing more that a guy who worked his way up in Arthrex as a sales rep that they finally gave a VP tag to and was happy to see go. The talent is Donnermeyer and Brunsvold and that is who Arthrex is going after.
