Agree there are a few DMs that get it the issues is that they are such a minority that none of them can be trusted or justified. Let's face it, hoping a company starts over by letting go of all middle mgt is probably a fairy tale so until some BIG DECISIONS are made at the top it's business as usual. The beatings will continue until morale improves.

If they are a thing of the past why do companies continue the madness? The Pharma rep has been nothing more than a cheap advertising vehicle inside these offices for years. Say the exact same message everyday to the same MDs week in week out. The problem is that management thinks this is sales and makes Reps lie all day long instead of giving credit where credit is due w/ the Rep that actually made the "STOP". The issue is in what the definition is of a Rep, it's nothing close to sales and hasn't been for years. When the "C Suite" realizes this then maybe the role will change but until then expect more of the same.

You are not seeing anyone who are you kidding. And you surely are not seeing your top high writers all day long. This is an CP not some Kool Aid drinking Manager writing your trip report so you can be honest here.

True, Pharma is and always has been too arrogant, too stupid and too inept to reach customers without Reps, or at least as many. The Pharma “sales” model is 50+ yrs old and has not changed one bit. SOS different day, every day.
As access continues to erode, so will the number of reps.

Listen, no one is completely wrong here. Reps need more Value addd tools/resources to facilitate total office calls. Good reps are still the best way to move the needle via eye to eye contact with prescriberst, yet it is true the opportunity to make this happen 8 times a day every day is not realistic; however more ‘shots on goal will produce more scores. As for middle management, they are puppets- I think most would agree the model has changed and reps need more/additional responsibilities (‘credit” for non direct contact sales activities), however until UPPER management gets it a middle manager will continue to manage to the current specifications.

This immensely useless person is apparently in line to get a promotion because of frightened bosses. And you wonder why PFE stock is underperforming?

We get payed for performance, not activity. Activity for the sake of activity is what is bringing Pfizer down. Managers are nothing more than babysitters. They work fewer hours than the laziest rep, and are overhead that Pfizer can easily do without. Upper management is populated mostly with ass- kissing, phony, arrogant, narcissistic frauds.

Wyeth has taken over, pathetic fakers, scared of performers and happy collecting their checks and and blowing smoke up their bosses asses ...who love it because they are the same. HQ bunch are sadly bad. Lets lead the digital race ...by doing...videoconferencing. I never will laugh so hard. Thank you for being you. #Pfizer Proud Guffaw Guffaw. Lets get those reach and frequency numbers up and don't worry about sales and customers. Optics people optics. sound familar? We are in a vicious circle of extreme mediocrity heading down the swirl of the toilet. Has stock risen above 35 yet???

At least the BMS reps are back in offices now, so they can set up our Eliquis "videoconferences" for us. While we huddle behind a camera like it's nuclear winter outside, they can wave to us and grab an individually wrappedz hermetically sealed, completely biohazard resistant sandwich

Jerking has been replaced by gumming. Have you been gummed lately? If not give it a try.

It is beyond comprehension. He got a promotion. He is an apocalyptic twat. Sitting in a room with him talking is like watching my life running out and regretting ever working for a company that would even allow, and pay, such a worthless stain to be an employee. Everyone I know agrees. It is only his boss that allows this travesty to continue. His boss is Nanette Cocero. Why is she frightened? Who else is frightened?
