Since the pension plan terminates, what is Pfizer doing to replace it? What will the match be on the 401K.

Major pharmaceutical companies have gotten rid of pension plans; they do not want the liability or the responsibility. Your 401 K replaces it just like every other company.

This is all outlined on Pfieldnet. Your pension freezes, it's not terminated. After it freezes, you will get an enhanced 401k contribution depending on your tenure and age.

Big deal. Every company is doing it is right. The pension was always a promise built on a lie just like social security.

We need to get honest and get real. I am pissed that older generations get such fat and rich benefits paid for by stealing from their offspring. It's time to right the ship now and stop the madness.

All the large pharma companies benchmark so nothing done here is different than anyplace else.

Merck, J&J, and Eli Lilly still offer defined benefit pension plans, so it's not an industry benchmark.

Yes, they all do it now.

Yes, you do need to get real. Stealing from their offspring!? Are you shitting me? Your parents should have slapped some sense into you long ago. When you actually earn your pay like most of those of the older generations, you may reap the benefits. You clueless, parasites have no idea what a day's work actually is.
The only madness is that you are payed a great deal of money for doing virtually nothing.

The way I see it: Pfizer currently has two work forces. The aged, lazy, and irrelevant fossils with bloated paychecks who have the gall to complain about their pensions, and the educated, with-it, and motivated younger reps who are severely underpaid and overworked, and who look up at these obsolete relics wondering "why doesn't my company think I deserve what they have?" And in so doing are looked down upon with disdain and mistrust.

But the saddest part... the saddest part by far is the fact that this is being played out all over America. And who do we have to thank for it? The baby-boomers. The most entitled, selfish, and self-indulgent generation to have been inflicted upon the earth. Before or since, there has never been a generation that has been given so much, yet passed on so little. So enjoy your pension, Mr. or Ms. fifty-or-sixty-something Pfizer "rep," I guess you earned it.

You make me sick. Boomers were "given" nothing. "Passed,on so little" WTF does that mean?
You are one screwed up individual. You must have been screwed over somewhere along the way. Did mommy ween you too early or potty train you too late...or both. Did you strike out in LL and someone laughed at you? Couldn't get a date for the prom? Wife/husband dump you. Didn't make it to the executive suite in your first year? You've got this all backwards.
You gen-Xer's and millennials are the most entitled, selfish, and self indulgent generations that ever walked the earth. You're just pissed and pouting because the boomers aren't going to give you their hard earned money. Too many of you have been babied all your lives and now you think everything in this world should be at your command. Free college, no grades, a six figure salary for showing up, a house, car, etc. what you can't have on your own you expect mommy and daddy to give it to you like they always have. You lazy crybaby, little shits have never heard the word no.
Now you're in the real world where you are on your own, an experience you've never had.
No one to kiss your boo boos, and tell you you're wonderful even if you suck. We don't hand out participation trophies to everyone, we don't give praise because you showed up, and you won't make a living without working for it. Underpaid and overworked? Are you delusional or just plain stupid. Whining and crying won't get you a cookie from mommy anymore.
The gravy train is over. The welfare state your generation thinks is so wonderful is a fantasy. Someone has to pay the bills, and that sure as hell won't be you and your playmates.
Grow up, sonny, before it's too late. take some personal responsibility for your life and career.
Don't like your job, hours, pay? Quit, and find one you do like, with better pay.
Or, stay where you are for 20 years, IF you last that long, and just when you're ready to reap the benes your company promised you for being loyal and contributing to their success, you get dumped at 50, and get shit, like many boomers had happen to them. No, not for lack of performance, but because of company greed. That " golden" parachute you think will be there when you decide to jump off is rigged to not open and let you crash.

Blah blah blah. Go suck off the government tit you despise so much. You got yours, right? SS, medicare, and company pensions: the last greedy consummation of a generation of lazy fuck-ups; ones that will leave the planet objectively worse off than the one that was handed to them.

You did make a good point that trusting in corporations is a stupid mistake... because they're run by baby boomers!

Does the basement in your parents house where you live have a separate entrance or do you have to go through upstairs to come and go??? What's mommy making for dinner?

You' re damn right, I got mine and I earned every freaking penny of it. And NO, I owe you lazy, gimme, gimme parasites NOTHING. If it weren't for the baby boomers there wouldn't be a company to employ you.
You are so warped, immature, selfish, and stupid that you don't realize YOU have to go get want you want No one is going to hand it to you.

Well, lunch is over. Gotta do the back nine. You continue to save the planet for me so I can continue to enjoy the fruits of my...and now, your labor,, more accurately, your activity, to its fulest.

    Thank you.

Thank you for proving my point; you leeched off the generation before you and now you will sponge off those that come after. And all you worthless fucking Jims and Barbaras will live an unnaturally long time.

Imagine being a spineless millienal in this cut throat business, where the weak are targeted and put on a plan? What's the odds of these docile puppy's and kittens lasting 40 years in Pharma ? One in a million? No safe spaces or crayon time here. Open your mouth ONE TIME to HR about someone or something and you'll be PIPd and fired so fast, your dizzy little heads will spin.

Where were you educated? Get your money back; you got screwed. Oh, sorry, forgot, you weren't given grades and just fed liberal, socialistic bullshit.

I would gladly give up SS and Medicare if the gov't would refund all they took from me,and my employers, and returned it with interest earned for the 49 years I was in the work force.
Unfortunately for you and crybabies like you, SS will be gone, or you'll have to wait until 80 to start to collect, BUT, you won't make it to 80 because you'll die prematurely because you can't afford, or won't have healthcare because whatever governmental program is in place will be only for illegal immigrants, the poor, and politicians.

So, take all your misguided information, idiotic opinions, and misdirected anger back to mommy''s basement, suck your thumb before mommy prepares your kale and spinach salad and enjoy dinner. Then, have mommy wipe your ass after your bowel movement, put you to bed; and tuck you in after a hard day of bitching, moaning, and blaming everyone else for being a failure. It has to be exhausting being such an ignorant, stupid, angry loser. I actually feel bad for you.......no, .....I pity you.
