Joan Miller, Dick Mahoney, and John Menage are leaving the company, and some new blood is joining.

I thought this was interesting, from the press release: "The organizational changes will enable us to reduce the number of management layers to no more than seven, compared to the current structure, which sometimes has as many as 10 layers of management between the CEO and frontline employees, such as specimen processors or phlebotomists."

Any thoughts on whether or not this will help Quest in the long run?

Fresh insight and new perspectives are always beneficial to any organization.
Unless you are in the management layers that are going away.

I came from big pharma and couldn't believe how lax this company was. One og the best things it can do is clean out the old school and bring in the new....all the way down to the rep level.

There is no doubt that reducing some of the layers of management will help. Quest is very top heavy in management and all the costs with that management hurt the bottom line.

I just hope Wayne Simmons stays. He is the backbone of Quest.

I thought the only way to get rid of JM is through an exorcism.

"I thought the only way to get rid of JM is through an exorcism."

    That's just what happened.

    WS is useless.

I was also thinking along the lines of reducing costs. Why pay salaries and benefits for managers who do very little? Quest always seemed to have "too many chiefs and not enough Indians."

Only $435,000,000 of fat left to cut in the next two years!
