What's a realistic total comp for a first year rep at Idexx? (Salary + bonus only).

Salary ranges from 50-60k depending on experience. Comp will add another 50-75 for regular performance, and upwards of 75+ if you crush it. You'll be working a lot though. Some reps are M-F, on the road from 830-430 and doing notes and emails from home after, which takes you til 6 or 7. Most reps take at least 6 months to get used to the job. Expectations are by region depending on opportunity. Some regions want you to kill it above 100%, knowing the opportunity is there. Other regions just expect you to play defense in their region, knowing how tight the market is. One rep in the territory was hired to just "plug a hole" and play defense. He didn't hit 100% for an entire year.

In short, if you can't find anything else, then I'd try it and see how you like it, knowing you'll have at least 6 months to get used to it. Some of the horror stories on here are true, but I also know some Idexx reps that are still outside reps, and they still like it, so they seem to have found some justification in sticking with the job.
