You people have bigger fish to fry than this shit. How about no new products and the fact that your R&D Department is two brits in a lab who pump out a new product every other decade... People, pay attention to history this company not a bad job but certainly not a career or a place where you can make more than 75k. (not bad bucks but not for a medical job with all the horseshit the reps have to do)

What is your guess on how many people will quit between now and the SLC? It's just over 4 weeks away, so my guess is 1 per week or 4 total resignations. Any one else have a prediction?

    To: KH and EW
    From: The Entire Sales Force

It’s sad that feedback is not allowed in this company and that cafepharma is the only way to speak the truth. Unfortunately, that is the way it is, so please read the following prior to Friday’s call.

    1) The entire sales force is looking for a new job. We have no choice. If we lose P and P reimbursement it will not only crush our provider business, but it will seriously impact our stocking business. Clinics won’t stock a product that their patients can’t access. Selling Fibracol is not the answer. It is about 1/3 the price of Promogran. We’d have to triple our sales to break even, and we have no crossover for Prisma which is by far our biggest product. We would be certain to not get commission the 2nd half of the year, and would go into a payback situation quickly, so we would actually owe money back to Systagenix each month. It’s time to be a real medical company and have a solution. The call on Friday better discuss the backup plan if P and P do not get reimbursed. Tell us about the 90% collagen and 10 ORC (or silver ORC) versions of P and P already designed and ready for production. Tell us about the prepared marketing plan for such an event. Reassure us that you have plans in place so we don’t get hurt financially by this. It’s already impacting business. Competitors are swarming, and what provider is going to order P and P in April or May not knowing if they will get paid after June 1st?

    2) Epifix appears to be a great product. Unfortunately, that is not enough in today’s economic climate. There are about half a dozen reimbursed grafts and about 20 grafts with Q codes hoping for approval. ORs and surgery centers have all gotten burned on reimbursement by skin grafts and will not allow it again. That’s not hard to believe with so many graft companies all fighting to get a sale. No one will allow these to be purchased if they are not certain they will get paid. In the past this was possible, but times have changed. Once upon a time you could even get grafts put on under DRGs. That’s nearly impossible now. Telling us to sell to managed care is a joke. The approval rating is lower than our employee morale. Even when we are told the patient is approved, the helpline can’t tell us how much is covered. The customers then have to call the insurance company and do their own pre-auth only to find out they are usually deep in the red on the purchase. Assigning a monthly quota is ridiculous. Over half the sales force couldn’t sell 1 graft last year and that was with a great commission plan, so it wasn’t for lack of trying. Maybe we can have a repeat of AT. What percent to quota did we come in at as a company? 5% to plan?

This is just the beginning of our challenges, but it is enough for now. KH and EW, now is your chance. You can either address the real issues and present real solutions in an attempt to save the US business, or you can have an entirely new sales force in 2014 with about half the sales $’s.

I want to know more about this and what other products are in the pipeline. We need some new products to sell.

I think they were speaking hypothetically. In other words, bring some solutions to the table to calm the reps.

Since we are talking hypothetically, maybe this new version of p and p would come in larger sizes that actually fit the reimbursement landscape. That would make a positive out of this bad situation.

We need more than 1 new product and several variations of these hypothetical products. Its time to step up to the plate.

And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough...

Unfortunatley, the message before to KH & EW is dead on. Despite having such great products with P&P, reimbursement is absolutely necessary. No patient is going to pay out of pocket for the product and WCC's won't stock it if they can't get it. Why use P&P when it's critical that it continue to be used. Anyone remember DNS? Without a solution to this, no rep can overcome the effect of not having reibursement. Let's not forget that our entire pipeline is based on P&P and chronic wounds. That's why the acute market is not the answer to this companies issues like they are pushing us towards. Our product line is an old repackaged portfolio that performs good to average with no real cost savings, no new exciting products to discuss, and not enough clinical backing to overcome Corporate contracts in place by companies with more complete lines. Any cost savings we can provide against competitors are just re-cooped in lack of compliance threats. GPO positioning has gotten better, but IDN contracts are non-existant in most territories. With most hospitals joining or being purchased by IDN's, opportunities are very limited and that's without the other issue's mentioned earlier.

Also, we are doing a great job of marketing Epifix for MiMedx. Every rep has busted their butt trying to secure Epifix sales through whatever channel possible only to be told "sounds great, have a sample to try? If not, come back when there is reibursement." I'm sure MiMedx will have a sales force up and running just in time for reibursement with samples, better pricing, references and experience from many cases to discuss. If you were a Dr. who would you use for your rep? And of course, physician preference will determine who they use. Not what segment they represent.

KH and EW, like what was said previously, now is your chance to step up and give solutions. Show us that you understand the marketplace, the challenges we are facing and give us the tools to overcome these. Otherwise, you will have more turnover than we have already seen. Please!!!! We will be listening tomorrow with all ears.

You are hoping it isn't bad news? What could be worse than losing p and p reimbursement? Maybe since they are asking us to sell tielle and fibracol we will also be asked to sell typewriters, Betamax and 8 tracks. Some things never go out of style!
