I have heard that the codes are going to get slammed and/or bundled (and slammed). rumor has them down to about 200 $ for a bundled.

Any ideas/thoughts/comments? is this true. if so, how can the industry survive this type of hit.

Are you kidding? How can an industry that does $50 worth of testing make it on $200 versus the overcharging they currently do? The industry is overdue for this change.

That is almost a certainty considering the abuse in Urine Tox. Just as G0431 is a single code for Qualitative screen by immunoassay there will be a single code for CDA (Comprehensive Drug Analysis) by LCMS, and it probably will be in the $200 - 400 range. If you split and code individual drugs that will be then be considered unbundling. This it the current CMS/Medicare thinking. My guess will be commercial insurance will subsequently follow in their footsteps.

Any news on when the final payments will be announced for the bundled codes?
