Fauci and Grogan have a lot of explaining to do. When task force is dismantled in June, Fauci is out and Colonel Birx is in. Pence verified this today and Fauci wasn’t let in on it. Dr Doom didn’t get the memo.

How about some response around this article from the company?? This is one of the biggest HCV and HIV accounts in Boston, I guess they don’t rate when it comes to Covid

Remdesivir works unbelievably well (unlike you were claiming for weeks on here). The worldwide demand is overwhelming. Gilead has committed to donating 1.5 million doses in 2020 at no charge. The US Government is distributing, and therefore, Gilead has no control regardless of it is “one of Gilead’s biggest customers.” Gilead recognizes the importance of everyone, and is not putting one customer over another. Thank you for coming around on the incredible worldwide contribution Gilead is making to fight this pandemic.

Typical party line. Boston/Mass has been a hot bed for this and BMC has been at the front line of infectious diseases since the early days of HIV. How about they have access to Rem like everyone else?

No Leftist Radical States should have access to it.

Great job Gilead. Please are already complaining about distribution. No good deed.....

On February 12th A Chinese drugmaker announced it started mass-producing an experimental drug from Gilead Sciences that has the potential to fight the novel coronavirus, as China accelerates its effort to find a treatment for the widening outbreak. Late February a randomized, controlled clinical trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the investigational antiviral remdesivir in hospitalized adults diagnosed with COVID-19 began at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha. doctors in Washington state became aware of the use of remdesivir for COVID-19. What information did they receive that would lead them to try this relatively unknown drug? Then how could the drug begin being mass-produced in China before trials even occurred in the US? Gilead has endorsed and is engaged with a drug purchasing group, UNITAID. UNITAID is an outgrowth of the United Nations, Millennium Declaration of 2000, which is now the U.N. Global Compact. The large investors in UNITAID include WHO, George Soros, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and a partnership relationship with the Clinton Health Access Initiative. Both Drs. Fauci and Birx are associated with the Clinton Health Access Initiative. The one person behind the promotion of Gilead’s remdesivir is the doctor who has worked with Gilead for a long time, Dr. Fauci. He also has downplayed and criticized the use of the much cheaper drug hydroxychloroquine which has a 91% success rate. remdesivir is more expensive and less effective medication, and already failed against Ebola.

Nice try, you already lost this argument when blinded placebo controlled trials came out showing great effect on hospitalization and mortality- time to move on

This is a cut and paste of the latest from the conspiracy theorists. You people are awful and should try actual research and free thinking.

Since remdesivir is administered intravenously, FDA (EUA) allows the drug to be given only to patients with severe cases of COVID-19 who are hospitalized. The FDA's definition of severe translates to patients with low blood oxygen levels, many of whom will require oxygen therapy or be placed on ventilators.
These limitations shouldn't be overlooked. But right now, the overall market size for remdesivir is probably smaller than many think it is.

    Dow up 835 and Gild down −0.93 (1.22%) $75.33

Why is our stock tanking. Is it GSKs HIV drug that will take our market share or
    remdesivir fail?

It’s both. Truvada has big market share threat from cabotegravir for PrEP treatment. incidence rate of 0.38%, compared to a 1.21% rate for Truvada. GSK and PFE will destroy us. Our HCV is on a spiral down too! Waiting for another lay-off.

The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons filed a lawsuit against Department of Health and Human Services and the FDA for “irrational interference” by the FDA with timely access to hydroxychloroquine. Never in history have we seen such a determined effort by the scientific community and pharmaceutical industry to downplay and lie about the use of a successful drug to treat a deadly disease. But there was great pushback against hydroxychloroquine for two reasons. The first reason was because it was safe and very inexpensive. The second reason is because Donald Trump promoted its use. the cost to manufacture remdesivir is only $9 per treatment but Gilead will charge $3000
Hydroxychloroquine is only $1 per treatment!

Here is the latest "wonder drug" if you havent been keeping up every day. Just waiting on government grants now. it has already passed the P1 safety tests for other indications:
Brilacidin FACTS thus far.. Brilacidin has never failed to deliver in clinical trials: 97% efficacy against COVID-19 Lung tissue, Amazing P-Value 0.0001, 99.99% Statistically Significant, meaning the trial result outcomes DID NOT occur randomly or by chance! Another major takeaway, Brilacidin is non toxic to lung tissues!!! IMO Brilacidin is a no brainer for a grant for human trials. These impressive results have not been duplicated. The demand for a therapy (ies) that delivers is immense, great for mankind and IMO huge rewards will follow for patient investors!!! Below is a excerpt from the latest PR that should help steady your nerves... lol

"Brilacidin is one of the few drugs targeting COVID-19 that has been tested in human trials (a total of 8) for other clinical indications, providing an established safety and efficacy database on over 460 subjects, thereby potentially enabling it to rapidly help address the novel coronavirus crisis. Ongoing laboratory testing conducted at a U.S. Regional Biocontainment Laboratory (RBL), and at a Public Health Research Institute (PHRI), supports Brilacidin’s antiviral ability to safely inhibit SARS-CoV-2 in both human and animal cell lines."

"A molecular screening study of 11,552 compounds also supports Brilacidin as a promising novel coronavirus treatment. Additional pre-clinical and clinical data support Brilacidin’s potential to inhibit IL-6, IL-1ß, TNF-a and other pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, which have been identified as central drivers in the worsening prognoses of hospitalized COVID-19 patients."

"Brilacidin’s robust antimicrobial properties might also help to fight secondary bacterial infections, which can co-present in up to 20 percent of COVID-19 patients. These data collectively support Brilacidin as a unique 3 in 1 combination—antiviral, immuno/anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial—anti-COVID-19 therapeutic candidate."

The bigger story is that it doesn't really work. Not statistically significant vs. placebo. Only thing available so people will get it but the FDA really lowered its standards approving this one.

Thank you Gilead for creating and providing this Great drug - it is well under priced. Huge savings to governments by drastic decrease in hospital stay. Huge trend towards decrease in mortality (which is being seen live right now by drastic decrease in Covid Deaths). Only thing that will hold this drug back from nearly all governments wanting to stockpile is an inability to make it fast enough. Very generous letting generic versions being made to 3rd world countries. I hope the nebulized version is priced the same as the IV version, it’s more than a fair price. Bravo Gilead!
