Sounds like you have your mind made up. They won't keep that comp plan for long. Straumann doesn't historically pay that great. Good luck. I will say this. Neodent connection is same as Ankylos. It is a TIME BOMB waiting to explode. Dentsply reps run out of offices when Ankylos is mentioned.

Who is Dentsply? That company is worse than ours. They are a complete non-factor.

As far as my mind being made up, I am meeting with my accounts to gauge hei interest in converting to Neodent in 18 months. I will exit with a few huge orders to hold them over until my non-compete expires and then bring them and their referrals to my new company.

Do you really think that Neodent is going to wait on you? And better yet, do you really think your Zimmer customers are going to follow you when your non-compete is up? I want some of whatever your smoking!
It would make more sense to re you to go with BH or even Implant Direct the money is much better at either of these than Neodent or Zimmer. Perhaps a move to a different industry is a better move.

You and ZB are a match made in heaven. If you think your customers are gonna follow you everywhere you go.....you are a moron

ID rep here. I'm very surprised to hear after they cut your base by 15K, that ANY of you are staying at that shit company. You have not come out with a new product EVER, same TSV you have been selling since we sold Paragon to you along with our internal hex and implant, friction fit etc. All you have now is Encode.

Why are you NOT thinking of coming to ID? It's the easiest conversion ever for your TSV customers. ID starts their reps around 70K....some of us (including me) make considerably more in base salary. Negotiate it up to 80k with your experience and customer lists. Commission can range anywhere from 30k-50k depending on your level here. Some reps get hired right in as Sr. Rep.

Right now I have company car, full benefits, 401k etc..etc....and total comp at $140k. Straumann hires in at 70k with total comp around the same (supposedly).

Why look at the little players like Neodent, Adin, Thommen, Sweden, Hiossen, Ace, and all the other crap companies when you can move over to a legit company that SPAWNED Zimmer Dental. Convert all your doctors to the Legacy implant or Interactive conical connection, and they can basically use their Zimmer kits. It would be a blood bath for Zimmer. Or do you all have non-competes??

to give a level headed response to the above poster you are correct. Zimmer Biomet has got to be dead last when it comes to Innovation and new products in the market.
The Eztetic Line could have been a game changer but that was scrapped to clean up mistakes from past leadership and it’s amazing that it’s never mentioned again.
The new product this year? Trabecular Metal!! Woo boo a 10 year old product as new?
Oh and to answer your question the non competes are some of the most rock solid in the industry but there are always loop holes

Why not? They followed me to ZB, why wouldn’t they follow me out? Perhaps you have mistakenly assumed I was an order taker instead of a business building rep that knows how to bring value to a surgeons practice. My docs followed me to ZB, I have no reason to think they won’t follow me to my next stop. That is what quality relationships do. If not, why would Zimmer have a non-compete?

Quality reps don't jump from job to job selling the same type of product. Customers will follow you to a second company and that's about it. The 3rd time it's not about what you can do for the doctor And he realizes it's what can the doctor for for you. You have lost what little credibility you have left.
The only good move for you is out of implant sales. Reputable companies don't want a job hopper - they know you can't bring anything to the table but arrogance.

Time for a work slowdown I only go out in the field 1-2 days a week now.

You lost me at practice building rep and I work for zimmer Biomet. Where were you before can’t wait to hear. So this will be your third implant company in your territory. Good luck with that

Yes, it would seem excessive to jump from one company to another, then to another. A doctor at some point will begin to question things, especially when a non-compete keeps you away for a period of time in between. Unless you are this super rep that's been in the area for a long time, then and only then will it work. Ideally, if you left because of your own standards on company product performing issues (ahem, 3i) then most likely a doctor will follow you. Just don't go to a Nobel or one of the big boys. There is a market for the mid-tier guys and the GP/Specialist market is picking up on that.

Third implant company = crappy rep even to the mid-size value companies. Hiossan or Aiden possibly may consider you . But the real question is do you really think that Neodent will wait on you? Oops! I forgot , their reps don't last any longer than a year - so the territory will be ready for you when your non- compete is up. After that year you can work for a 4th implant company, since you're such a rock star rep and the implant companies are beating on your door everyday.

Well Zimmer Biomet leadership did it again.
More than half the salesforce was sent an email stating if they don’t make Q1 you’re going on a plan. They take zero ownership for all the back order years that caused massive amounts of lost business. All the while most reps didn’t make money because there was no product to ship and customers left and now it’s their fault that they did make their numbers . Should be a fun year when the reps that are left are going to be forced to cover even more open territories.

Have to say I have no idea what you are talking about?? must have been the reps that didn't hit last year or haven't hit a quarter in awhile?
Please Explain more or post the email since this seems made up

Wouldn't surprise me the least bit if this were true. I have to ask, what is the average tenure of these reps on PIP? I wonder if these are reps hired post merger that hit their 2-3 yr useful rate or if this is a cleanup of pre-merger reps? Also, does this include RSM's?

The truth is around 40 reps (not half the reps) that had not hit their number the last 2 years were sent a letter stating they would be put on a PIP if they did not hit Q1. Essentially they told them to go find a new job - which is what they will(and should) do. I have got to think there probably are only around 40 reps that have been here 2+ years at this point. Drastic cutting of the herd - much cheaper to force out than to pay any severance. Prepping for a sale or spin-off or just possibly the biggest shit show of a "management" team in history.

I know looking for a new job sucks especially when you have great relationships with your customers, but the writing is in BOLD on the wall. I am out in 3 weeks and for spite will spread the word to every specialist and dentist I know (and I know a lot) about how this company treats their employees.

Trabecular Metal give me a friggen break...

Just when I thought the shit show by the frat boys had reached its low.... this.

Yep, I'm one of the 40 who got the letter. What a slap in the face. I've stayed loyal, I defended this company when my docs were trashing it, and I put such a spin on the backorders that I somehow managed to hang on to customers who were ready to bail. Not enough, it's never enough.

I'm also a few short weeks from being out of here, but you can bet the show I'll make after my exit will be like nothing you've ever seen. I'll get my last check, and then it begins. Spite doesn't even begin to describe what will happen. I have access to internal systems and data that will allow me to dramatically shift ZBD profit margins for the rest of time, and I will. I'll make Niznick proud.

If you think you know who I am or how I'll do it, you don't. Unlike you fools who make your dalliances public, mine are private, and the payoffs of such go far beyond anything you could imagine. It shall be epic.

does anyone know if any RSMs were threatened with Performance Plans? Here I'm feeling so sorry for myself, and my manager might be feeling the same way.

Always, always, have the upper hand, and don't be afraid to use it when injustice strikes.

    Are you listening, Hanson?
