    Well jnj could definitely be using contract sales representatives in all their divisions and they're not for some reason. So I guess that means more job security for some companies over the others. Time to try to transfer over to another division.

    We can all see what is happening. If a rep leaves the position it is filled with a contract person. If a whole district leaves for better jobs, retirement or promotions the whole district is replaced with contract reps. There is no magic number of reps our company is going to keep. We are all being replaced as openings happen. This will happen until the day they replace all remaining company representatives with contract replacements in one swoop. Management sees a cost savings for identical work. If the company saves 50% on a position or an average of $50,000, a district of 10 saves a half a million.

    Centocor ortho biotech has lots of openings. Those reps get huge base salaries, great commissions, and don't work for shit. Can't believe how much more they get paid than we do when they're not even out working. That company is one big joke and the reps have it too easy. But it's the same with the biotech divisions of all big pharma companies. The leaders are brainwashed into thinking that the biotech reps deserve the higher paychecks, but there's absolutely no difference between biotech and pharma reps. Except pharma reps are micromanaged and actually work harder. I bet the centocor ortho biotech reps couldn't hack it longer than a week at pricara or mcneil.

    i've been asking for years but my managers never even let me interview despite my great numbers and awards. i guess you have to have connections within centocor to get in because they have such an arrogance and think they're better than the other jnj pharma groups, even though it's the same damn job. jnj is notorious for never letting reps switch over to other operating biotech and pharma divisions. i took a job with jnj thinking i could work within different divisions through the years but that was a big mistake. i've been stuck in in this pharma division even though i have more experience and work harder than the biotech reps. i'm really hoping the rumor is true that jnj biotech and pharma will be morphing into one company. then they'll have to regulate the salaries between pharma and biotech once and for all. we'll all be upgraded in base because biotech has been overpaying their reps for years. those reps don't work more than two 11-3 shifts a week, if that much. they're always meeting each other for breakfast and lunch and not even trying to get into their accounts anymore because they claim there's no access and their specialists don't see reps anymore. wish my manager would let me get away with that. my customers don't see reps anymore either but i still kill myself day in and day out trying to find a way to get my foot in the door. pit any mcneil rep to a centocor ortho biotech rep and we would cream them in selling efforts and tenacity. really hope the rumors are true and we become one operating company. we're selling the same drugs as they are anyway.

    Not possible to have 96K on a Fusion. You must be driving the prototype model.

    Likely scenario:

    6 month call til Levaquin patent expiration- stop promotion directive consistent with industry practice
    Aciphex = $400million and falling
    Notcynta not selling- niche market, small nimble sales force needed
    Invega- double up products and give to Centocor

    Forecast:
    Of AI/GI, Pain, and Janssen sales forces only one rep is needed
    That's why AI/GI picked up Nucynta
    instead of dumping the Rep with the expiring patent, they give everyone Nucynta and now Pain & AI/GI get judged on equal footing
    Basically, pain has been selling shit drugs since 2006 and now they will get the boot when compared to most AI/GI reps

    Consider this there is a freeze on ordering cars from GE/jnj fleet/now. I wonder why. Because Paul Revere says no new cars the layoffs will take care of it for me. Me Ford Fusion gots 96,000 miles on it time for a change to a Nissan, Subaru, or Chevy, wow have we fAlling.
