Is Tvec and Blin moving to Onyx for sure? If so, when? How will they do it -- will Amgen people be forced to move to the Bay Area and on whose dime? Or will Onyx get the assets and choose their own staff to manage it? Will those products launch at Amgen and then transfer or will it go straight to Onyx for launch?

BCBU will lose 60 and nearly all will be placed in CV, unless they are poor performers, INBU will lose 45 and very few will be candidates for CV and the DM and RDs that are pushed out are out of luck. Onyx will be getting new OBU products and will have national footprint and Amgen staff will become Onyx staff, OBU loses DM and RSD. All of sales force is getting new levels and it will be different than anything you have now, biggest impact is less power for RD's and lower LTI too. New commercial model starts in Q4 and it means more loss for sales force as ACE rolls nationally and in some areas they give up sales reps for account managers and even rml. They know they are doing this but didn't tell you, lousy and dishonest. All of the re-leveling is pushed into 2015 but expect more job loss and lots of downgrades for everyone, especially r&d and operations, if you are an RSD that has been offered VTP you should say yes, with very rare exception you will be losing your job and even if you are retained you will be downgraded, expect resignations of three leaders in next 4 weeks, TO will lose about 1200 staff in total by end of 2015, - SB

While your insights are appreciated, you cannot ignore the fact that leadership has a stake in NOT BEING HONEST about upcoming changes in that they hope, albeit falsely, that those who are motivated to stay will produce as much as possible in order to be retained. Of course, we all know that you are either here or not based upon things largely out of your control during RIF's. However, leadership cannot tell the troops that 50 of you are heading into battle and only 2 of you are returning alive. If they did, they'd have a full on mutiny on their hands. Again, that might be the best scenario, but given peoples' love of their lifestyles I highly doubt that a coup d etat is nigh. - JAS

 

SB: Thank you so much for the information. With obvious changes coming this year and next year, if an INBU rep gets a VTP package, do you take it????? Will Enbrel be going to a contract sales force in the near future?

Will they really wait until Q4 to start the RIF?

 

Both drugs are going to Onyx. They are the 'therapeutic oncology arm' now. From a commercial standpoint there will no integration. It will be Onyx's asset. They are staffed now internally and would only need a very small increase in head count. The filed is already in the build out stage and will not be back filled with Blue/Orange. TH wants it very seperate. This writing has been on the wall since last October. This should not be a surprise.

 

What will happen to Blue and Orange OBU on the Amgen side? Will they integrate into one to become supportive care? Any ideas on the reduction numbers and dates of change?

 

Yes. They will merge to be the supportive care division. And as you can guess you don't need that many reps between the two groups.

 

Does that mean everyone on Blin or Tvec (commercial, reg, etc) will be Onyx staff? Will they be required to move to SSF? If so, when will this occur?
