How many reps does Shire employ in the US?
    Number for Primary Care?
    Number for Specialty?
Also curious what all you guys are promoting. Vyvance, Lialda, Adderall XR? I know you have many drugs in many areas, orphan drugs (Gattex). Just trying to get a feel for your US operations. Save the sarcasm for the next guy, serious replies only. Thanks!

Serious replies only? Seriously? Have you been to CafePharma before? No one in their right mind would ever give you a trustworthy answer here. How would you even identify the misinformation people post here?

Shire sales force is ranked in the bottom tier for productivity. That's all you need to know, Sherlock.

Around 200 PED reps and 300 family practice/psych reps selling Vyvanse and Mydayis in US. Since Vyvanse is 10 years old, these 500 reps are really only selling Mydayis. Since Mydayis is indicated for 13 and over and has limited appropriate patients in PED offices, you really only have 300 reps selling Mydayis to viable physicians. There is the BED indication for Vyvanse but the losers in charge abandoned actively promoting this about 2 years ago.
There are also 100 or more contract reps selling Vyvanse and Mydayis to low potential physicians. No one knows what they do or who authorized this waste of time and money.
Shire has ignored this business unit by putting an amateur in charge and allowing him to waste money with a poorly planned realignment among many other things.
The regional/district management in this division is mediocre and bloated. Each manager has 6-8 reps reporting to them.
Takeda could save a lot of money out of the gate by eliminating this mess altogether and giving Vyvanse (and the last years of it patent) and Mydayis to their neuroscience division.

Just over 500 reps, 302 on the adult side, just over 200 on the pediatric side. Neuro hasn’t hit their goal, we’ll maybe once, since Mark Rus and Kevin Cowles have taken over in 2015. Perry Sternberg has pretended to focus on other Business Units but he is still part of the Neuro show. These clowns have really destroyed an envied sales force, everything is in decline. The only thing that has kept things looking good are the continual price hikes for Vyvanse. They have hired tons sales managers that are inept, they have hung onto the bottom feeder RD’s that are nothing more than glorified babysitters. Most of the good RD’s are gone. Takes a should just fire everyone including Mark Rus and Kevin Cowles and take over the show.

“US Operations” you means US shitshow?
The neuroscience division has been in free fall ever since the son of a former board member took over 2 years ago. Fleming allowed this experiment b/c he thought the Abbvie purchase was a done deal.
There is really nothing viable to sell in neuroscience and nothing in the pipeline. Everyone knows this is a sinking ship.
They even cancelled this business units annual back to school sales meeting. Never in NBU history has there not been a summer meeting to planned for the biggest ADHD months in the fall.
If that does not say BAIL ——what does ?

What are people gonna do if they don’t think, “This is the most important back to school ever?”

I've never worked at some company that cancelled the Nsm. This place is going downhill quick. No trust, no transparency, no meetings, no communication on how many reps finished at goal for the OBU ( ya I'm looking at you Mike Campbell)

So true... Fleming's decision to hire Mark Russ is proof that he is clueless. It should only take 5 minutes with that guy for anyone with a brain to realize he is not smart enough or capable of running a multibillion-dollar division.

It is ILLEGAL to post confidential company information!

    Which part is confidential?
    Mark Rus incompetence?
Mark Rus getting a job running a billion dollar business unit with limited experience because his father was the Canadian CEO of Shire?
That the NBU hired a contract sales force to call on doctors that DO NOT rx controlled substances?
That the NBU pushes a 16 hour ADHD drug to adolescents at doses not indicated for adolescents?
That this is the first time in NBU history there is no back to school national sales meeting?
That the separation of the PED and adult customers has caused such a limited customer base in MANY PED territories that ar least 15% of PED territories have been eliminated.
That MARK RUS expanded the NBU for this PED/Adult customer separation and realignment and it has caused decreased customer interaction .
That MARK RUS had Shire pay for the RENTAL OF THE BILLBOARD IN TIMES SQUARE NYC for the dumbest 5 minutes in company history?

    Is that confidential?

So roughly 500 Neuro reps and that's it? No GI or other reps?

Probably not illegal, but definitely against company policy. Which means Shire can come after the poster and ask CafePharma to take the post down.

what is the company policy about nepotism?

OK, so there's 500 (300/200) Neuro Reps as stated. Looks like there's also Reps with the following titles:

    Regional Business Manager (Endo)
    Rare Disease Endocrinology

Regional Business Manager, LSD (Lysosomal Storage Disorders)
Rare Disease Rep selling VPRIV (Velaglucerase alfa for injection)

    Sales Specialists (Ophthalmic)
Calling on Eye Care Practitioners (ECP's)

    Key Account Managers (Hospital Reps)

How many total reps work at Shire? Any GI (Gattex/Lialda) reps? Thanks

Why are you asking this on CafePharma. All you will get here is a misleading answer.
