So, I have the severance policy. It's like reading mandarin. So, if we are spun off in an IPO and then later sold, we get 12 weeks or nothing. If that is the case, no reason to stay anymore. Dirty thirty lied to us when Abbvie fell through and said we would be protected and that severance was protected. They lied to us.

Where did you find it? Because we all know how they like to hide things! How do you get 12 weeks or nothing? Depending how long you have been here? Send details since no one else can find it please.

A severance policy is only worth the paper it's written on. It's a "policy" and be changed or revoked anytime. We had a great one years ago and like a previous poster said, it was negotiated away by Flem in the AbbVie deal in favor of retention bonuses for his dirty 30.

The most unbelievable thing was to watch Fleming come back and address the company when AbbVie backed out. Oh, he spun it and said we need to have a policy "that takes care of our employees". People hissed. It was right there I knew this guy is a lying POS! Typical sociopathic behavior. Believe NOTHING of what Flem or Perry say. They couldn't care less about your livelihood.

It is not management's responsibility to provide for you for the rest of your life, dullard! It is your own responsibility to take care of yourself and your family!! This entitlement/participation culture is making America weak! Grow a set, snowflake!

True, but what is then when a company has a policy in place that they use as a retention tool and right before they need to use that policy they abandon it but make sure their 30 top friends get a full year's salary for staying on 6 months during the merger? Who's the entitled one here you pole smoker?

THATS why NO ONE trusts these douche' bags.

Let's be serious, sales reps are a dime a dozen. An acquiring company does not need reps, they already have their own reps. The management team is required for the transition to ensure value preservation for the acquirer. Just accept the fact that we expendable and looked upon as a liability for the acquiring company. Sales training classes should also include Business 101 information!

Ok then Mr. Business school dropout, then why go through the motions of having an "enhanced severence package" in the event of an acquisition? Furthermore, there were rumors years ago of a buyout by Bayer, who had zero neuro presence in the US. You don't think they want to keep that intellectual property so as not to disrupt the revenue of their newly purchased company?

Sounds like you barely completed 101, nevermind 201!

Well the joke is on you! I have a MBA from one of the most prestigious on-line internet colleges in the world! Ha! Beat that!

Hey, Cat Dick! No one cares if you have a damn MBA. Too many people in the wrong roles have these degrees and still can't run things well.

You are a special breed of internet dummy. The person bragging about their MBA was obviously joking...

Totally. They also think "cat dick" is a cunning insult.

Why not Marmot Scrot? Or Flappy Flamingo Feathers?

Oh right... because they couldn't get an advanced degree and feel all sad about it...

There won’t be a simple spin-off if you know how to read. First, Allergan lost their patent fight so restasis goes generic and OBU is screwed. Second, we need all the revenue we can get now. Third, activist shareholders want to carve up the company so if things are sold lots of parts will be sold and we can kiss severance goodbye.
