AS a 30-year J&J veteran that just retired with great J&J benefits and a even better J&J pension, I hope all of you get so fed-up you quit and go the the competition. You are what is wrong with J&J today. A bunch of cry babies that expect everything for nothing. Quit bitching and go out and make a difference. Earn the free car, free trips, bonus, health care, and salary you get from J&J. By the way I wasn't a VP or Director. I was a sales rep that took responsibility for my own success and didn't expect a free ride from J&J. The CREDO is not dead and it is not all Weldon's fault. Look around at other companies and you will see how lucky you are. Quit blaming others if you are unhappy. Just leave!

Why don't you tell the FDA? I'm sure they will be interested in your special theory of the origin of J&J's problems. Maybe they will even stop investigating whether criminal charges against J&J's management are in order.

How are you feeling about paying $36,000 over that 30 years for a car that you don't even own now? I guess you feel fine because it was free.

And...30 years as just a rep? I'm sure you were working really hard yourself. I can see that you are enjoying your retirement....spending time on cp doing the same exact thing you did while you were a rep.

Don't be so quick to pass judgement on others GRANDPA! You have no idea what people have gone through. You made it 30 years with J&J? Good for you. This industry is not what it was 30 years ago. I would think that someone as tenured as yourself would know that. With that being said....perhaps some reps are lazy and cry babies but mamangement doesn't get to come out of this free and clear. Management has yet to accept responsibility for ANYTHING that has gone wrong int his company. The arrogance is dusgusting. Realignment after Realignment. Changing the comp plan mid year to name just a few. SO before you go passing judgement on others you need to walk in there shoes. NOt everyone has been as lucky or happy as you. BY THE WAY....J&J isn't the premier employer of the nation. I left last year. More money and all the same benefits. (Even better medical). Most importantly! I am respected. Nobody respects pharma reps anymore and for good reason. I look back now and realize what idiots most of us look like! I kiss the ground every day for this device job. Now go wnjoy retirement and buy a bottle of some JNJ tainted pills while your at it.

You can be thankful that you were still able tio retire with benefits and a pension. The reason why WE are complaining, and not you, is precisely that the current top management is squandering the opportunity for US to reach retirement age at J&J or tio get benefits and a pension. So, don't be so selfish and out of touch to preach to us, who are paying for your retirement.

I wanted to stay at J&J for the rest of my career and retire too. Unfortunately, Mr. Weldon had different plans for many of us.

I agree I love j&j. I'm a pharmaceutical veteran and am with the biotech division. We get the highest salary in the industry for doing nothing. I can't believe that j&j has no idea that doctors don't see reps anymore especially specialists like oncologists and hematologists. everyone in my district fakes all our calls and don't even try to see the customers anymore. we delete accounts and docs who use the competitor products any and every chance we get so it looks like our sales have improved. hcc violations are commited daily. we do nothing. we sell nothing. our real job is actually pretending to look like we're working. its a charade and its been going on for many many years. i couldn't be more fortunate to work for j&j. other companies expect their reps to work and give them stess if they can't get into accounts, but my division gives us no pressure. we all cover for each other. j&j's consultants are not doing their jobs and are researching and making adjustments to the industry the way other pharmaceutical companies are. other companies are saving money by getting rid of fleet vehicles but we have the nicest fleet cars in the industry. our bonuses are amazing, i can't believe i make so much each quarter for inflating and faking sales. i know what to do to make my numbers look good and don't have to get out of bed and put on a suit to do it. other companies are firing senior reps and going to contract reps but i know j&j will never be that smart. other biotech companies don't offer pensions or j&j's 401k match. i guess that the higher ups at j&j have no idea what's going on in the industry. i've got a good thing going and plan on riding this baby out till retirement. my point is that everyone who works for j&j should be thankful. this really is the best company in the world to work for.

30yr vet why don't you send out a few resumes and see how marketable you are and see how much weight the name J&J has in this industry. Good Luck!

As a shareholder with j&j I am furious at how nonresponsive j&j is with cutting back on unneccessary expenditures in the age of health care reform. I work from home and my next door neighbor is a rep for centocor. She has been with the company for many years and I'm telling you, her free fancy company car (prius) never leaves her garage. The girl does not go to work. My wife is a nurse and is friends with her and can't believe the huge salary this slacker is making. This rep brags about how the doctors don't see drug reps anymore and her boss is ok with everyone not letting the higher ups know the reps are not wanted or needed anymore. Apparently the drugs sell themselves and the reps are laughing all the way to the bank. As a financial analyst, I am well aware of the cost savings other companies like glaxo, pfizer, and merck have implemented and think it is a step in the right direction. Many drug companies are getting rid of the huge expense of a free company car and giving car allowances instead. Companies like glazo are getting rid of high commissions based on sales because they have realized that reps don't even see customers anymore and the reps are not responsible for the ultimate revenue generated by the drugs. Many companies are laying off lazy butts like my neighbor who don't work and are utilizing contract sales forces. Many companies have also gotten rid of pensions. But not j&j. My wife says this rep doesn't even have a science background and knows nothing about her products. Yet my wife, a hard working nurse makes 1/3 this rep's salary. There is something seriously wrong with j&j. This company needs to wake up.

Dude, quit giving away all of the trade secrets. I golf with most of my Docs, if JNJ ever did followup to see if calls were made, they have my back.
Good thing the higher ups are so out of touch with reality.

They have your back when everything's fine and dandy and the numbers are good. Just wait for an unexpected audit or when your sales slip. You'll be left in the dust. Enjoy it while it lasts.

As a J&J shareholder, I think that you are an idiotic troll. As a former J&J rep and actual trader I think you are more anal than analyst with an ax to grind. I wouldn't be surprised if you were an ex-centocor rep stirring up a load hoping J&J will buy into your horseshit. At any rate, you obviously have it out for the pharma industry. No analyst is going to compare one industry's comp structure with another. It is completely meaningless how much a drug rep makes compared to a nurse (or anyone for that matter). Also, the pharma/biotech sector has always been a good investment. I've forgotten more about this industry than you will ever know. I got directed to these boards during the most recent J&J problems and I am amazed at all the shit stirring trolls like yourself on this board. To set you straight on one thing before I go. Centocor, bought shortly before I left another J&J opco, has turned out to be one of the most brilliant, insightful buys J&J has made. If you were really any kind of analyst you would know that that opco is now the crown jewel of J&J and a key to their success in the future.
