well men, congratulations. You really bungled up the CSL deal didn't you ? Now go get that IPO you've always dreamed about. What a bunch of monkies you are !

Saying "IPO" may massage their egos but it will not happen. The size of the IPO they want or need will never fly in this economy. They will have to find someone to purchase Talecris. If CSL can't pull it off, the next suitor will probably offer significantly less. The chickens are beginning to come home to roost and some of their "business decisions" are catching up with them

Talecris rumored to be creating three separate business units that can be sold independently. TPR, Manufacturing ( Clayton + Melville + R&D), and TPT ( plasma testing ). Could dillute FTC concerns. Could also lead to multiple investors. Obviously worth more together but The "dog" is anxious to cash out this year.

This could be an option but unfortunately TPR can not even decide what their platform of plasma centers is going to eventually be at this time.

If I were a manager of a small center I'd be concerned that I could be closed or spun off to another company. TPR has too much plasma and is being run by poor management.

They will surely continue to make bad management decisions and we'll continue to keep bad middle management who will surely run us into the ground before sale or merger can be achieved.

Larry Stern was advised, very early on by insiders and outsiders that he absolutely had to get back into the plasma collection business. On the Board was Reudi Waeger, an experienced exec, who should have had the balls to sway Larry's position. Unfortunately he did what? Nothing ! Hard to blame current TPR management for any of their woes since their main man and experienced board missed several early opportunities to take a different path. And what has it cost Cerberus.......hundreds of millions of dollars. How could such an experienced board have been so naive, indifferent, and totally clueless? Proof positive that IQ + greed, in the absence of experience and good common sense, carries a skull and crossbones marker. Subprime mortages, poor quality autos, and plasma protein inexperience have us where we are today.

I believe that the debt for the Plasma business is part of the 1.2 billion debt that CSL wants to purchase. Cerberus has very little, if any of their dolloars invested in Talecris at this point. They were paid back their investment within 2-3 years plus a bonus and the other nice things they did was financed by debt charged to Talecris and its assets not Cerberus

what does your comment about the debt have to do with the previous comment about misguided leadership?

you don't know anything about mismanagement until you have experienced the poor decisions being made on the Biological's Commercial side.

you won't find a whiter, more conservative Bored of simpletons any else in the biological field. these guys share dna that somehow missed generations of homo sapiens that didn't evolve as intelligently as rain forest tree frogs.

do you think they still greet each other with the cerberus secret handshake while exchanging mucous samples?

    Anonymous Guest

yes they still do the handshake followed by low fives, nose rubbings, butt slapping , and finally ......... deep tongue exchanges. The tongue exchanges between the men seems to be a most popular hello-goodbye tradition being envied by cerberus partners up north !

    To All Stockholders:

To further communicate how bad TBI/TPR is ran - Bruce and Dave B have just promoted a former Assistant Manager in the Dallas center to MANAGER!!!

Please be advised that this is one of the same Ast. Managers who was employed when the center was opened by Tom Wacker and Joletter and FAILED the FDA prelicensing inspection.

This goes to show everyone that Bruce and his DVP's have no clue on how to run the business.

Imagine what a laughing stock we are going to be with the FDA - not to mention the LOCAL FDA- when they find out that we reopened a center with this type of management.

Why in the world would Larry allow this type of performance? We totally screwed up the first inspection and we think that this POOR performer will actually run a compliant center and pass the FDA licensing process.

This is just another example of how POOR PERFORMERS get promoted in TPR. We are doomed for failure and are by far the LAUGHING stock within the industry!!!

Larry wake up do your job! Make the necessary changes in this organization to ensure we don't all lose our jobs! One more F****D up inspection and failure with the FDA and we can count on a WARNING LETTER if not a CONSENT DECREE!

Is the BOARD willing to continue to take these types of risks or are you going to do your job to the STOCK HOLDERS and run this ship by FDA rules!!!!

To the idiot who just posted this crap, check your facts. The Dallas center was just reopened with a complete new management team as well as about 60% new line staff. I can also tell you that center is more compliant now than any center in that region. There are no managers remaining in employment within TPR that were involved in the original opening of the Dallas center other than Jolette who should be next on the chopping block.

    David Dabbs:

Nice post, but rehiring an AM who was let go does not make them new or able to comply with the FDA regulations. But I do agree with your quote that Jolette should be let go, it's nice to see that the TRPR VALUES are strong and you support your other AD's!!
