Pieces like this from Teijin website may give some indication of things to come in US:
ijin Pharma Establishes Joint Venture in Spain
Launching Home Healthcare Business in Europe

    Teijin Pharma Limited

Teijin Pharma Limited (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Osamu Nishikawa) announced today that it established a 50-50 joint venture with Laboratorios del Dr. Esteve S.A. (Head office: Barcelona, Spain; President: Antoni Esteve, hereafter "Esteve"), a major Spanish pharmaceutical company on February 5 (CET), to enter the home respiratory business in Europe. Osamu Nishikawa, president of Teijin Pharma, and Antoni Esteve, president of Esteve, have assumed the co-presidency of the joint venture.

The joint venture, Esteve Teijin Healthcare S.L. (hereafter "ETH"), has acquired Esteve's total stake in OXIMEPLUS S.A. (Head office: Andalusia, Spain; hereafter "OXIMEPLUS"), a Spanish provider of home respiratory therapy services, accounting to 51% of the company's outstanding stock. ETH and OXIMEPLUS have become affiliates of Teijin Limited (Head office: Chuo-ku, Osaka; President: Shigeo Ohyagi), Teijin Pharma's parent, under the equity method of accounting.

ETH, which functions as a central management body in Europe, will develop strategies and pursue opportunities for new businesses in other major markets of Europe while expanding operations in Spain. OXIMEPLUS will offer high-quality home respiratory therapy services with the aim of expanding operations, by drawing upon Esteve's longstanding presence in the Spanish healthcare market and Teijin Pharma's extensive patient services and operational know-how developed over many years.

Commanding a share of approximately 60% in the service provider business for the home oxygen therapy in Japan, Teijin Phrama is a leader in the Japanese home healthcare market and is already operating in South Korea and the United States. Under a plan to expand its presence globally, Teijin Pharma aims to fully establish operating bases in Europe and North America as well as grow business in Asia.

    About Teijin Pharma Limited
Teijin Pharma Limited, the core company of Teijin Group's medical and pharmaceuticals business, focuses on three key therapeutic areas: respiratory, bone/joint, and cardiovascular/metabolic diseases, with about 1,700 employees. Teijin Pharma has strong marketing positions particularly in the respiratory and bone/joint areas with pharmaceutical products and a home healthcare business, including home oxygen therapy (HOT), which has a top market share in Japan. In the cardiovascular/metabolic diseases area, as well as in the other focused areas, Teijin Pharma is trying to enhance its presence through in-licensing and out-licensing products, effective co-developments, and in-house R&D activities.

I keep waiting for someone at PPSC to tell me how the company is changing under Teijin. We know the Braden people were assholes. Will the new owners rid the company of assholes?

Right now there aren't any specific changes. Only more micro managing from the senior vp down to the regional managers to the dms. Layoffs occurred in December right before Christmas, many employees have now left of their own accord. Some more have been fired for cause or not. The workplace in many centers is hostile, and morale is in the crapper.
As to whether the Teijin management will rid PPSC of these assholes, only time will tell and one can only hope.

I truly think that the current management is deliberately attempting to run PPSC into the ground before Teijin takes over. Look out Japan. There may not be a company left.

Perhaps they aren't going to expand any further in the US and are going to concentrate on gaining a foothold in European markets? If they have a finite amount of money to spend, and things were going really well in the US, and they were really impressed, wouldn't they be using that money to continue to expand in a successful and healthy US market?

"healthy US market"? Are you serious? With competitive bidding floating in limbo, who would invest in home O2 here now?

I think that was the point he was making....it's NOT a healthy US market and insteady of continuing to throw good money after bad Teijin is looking to expand elsewhere.
