I feel bad for the ones who cling to this job. There's more to do with your life, many companies have good benefits. I think that most ethicon employees are afraid that they no longer have the skills to do anything else. They just stay the course and hope things get better....they won't.

Some people are stronger than others and take their lives into their own hands.

What the hell was that Global town hall today? No real answers or direction for the upcoming year except to say "we are moving from being a premium product to value based product"....uh, how? and then the big push for cleft palate kids in 3rd world countries.......HUH? I would have appreciated more time spent on the business strategies and less time on the commercialism of Operation Smile. I don't mind thinking globally, but I think it's time to start acting locally. Amazing.....drink the kool aid and pass the hat to collect for smiles......

Yea, I don't know what that was. Another waste of time...from Kevin Lobo to Chuck to this guy....just like the ever revolving "branding".....all different names, same old shit.

Hope we win some contracts in the upcoming rebids this year if not all this that has gone on has been a big waste of time.

    Go credo!

do you really think we will not be allowed in the OR's anytime soon? It's something we all need to think about as we plan for the future. I can tell you that the access has got tougher for me. Most of my accounts now want me to let them know I am coming the day before. The "Who are you here for" question is asked much more too.

I have always been very low key and non aggressive hoping I could escape the access issues so many face. But, if I am seeing this trend I can only imagine what others are encountering with their hospitals. It's really beginning to suck balls!

Dude, just play their little game and have a "reason" to be there. I can't just pop into most of my accounts anymore, but that doesn't keep me from getting in. It just takes a little more work than it used to.

The best thing that ever happened to me was to get displaced in November. I am loving my new job, and will be making double the amount of money than with Ethicon. For all of you who are afraid to leave, I truly feel sorry for you. Ethicon was a great place to be back in the day. Now, it is a joke. Millions of dollars will be lost. Ethicon will see what they are doing is wrong and the sad thing is that no one seems to care to lose market share and lose reps?! Makes 0 sense. As one of the previous posts have said, a homeless guy could have done a better job with the reorganization. Good luck to all of you! SEEEEEE YA!!!!

I work in the home office, don't want to reveal the department. I have never heard so many product complaints in all the years I've worked at EES. And also have heard a lot of customers complaining about lack of sales support.
I agree, Ethicon is not only changing....it's swirling the drain.

    $11,000,000 x 2100 = $23,100,000,000 Mesh lawsuit payouts....

    Headline coming soon...

"J&J's MD&D unit Ethicon Surgical Care, filed for bankruptcy today...."

Have you all heard the Bob Marley song "Exodus"

It should be the ESC theme song for this year.

I would love to see proof of the mesh lawsuits and the bankruptcy filing where is the prof of that?

Sad to see this place literally self destructing.

Quit your bitching folks. You don't like the new organization pack your bags and hit the road. What makes or breaks a company is the attitude of its employees and for all of you that choose to look at the glass half full, I would appreciate you leaving, the sooner the better. Isn't the grass always greener?

I have news for all of the sales force (which I am part of).....tough decisions had to be made and like it or not this company is still a fantastic place to be. If you want to earn 400k go to Intuitive and work 100 hrs a week and feel what true pressure is or better yet take a job that requires being on call, see how either of those impact your quality of life.

We need to look in the mirror and despite the changes we have a great opportunity in front of us.

Again, those that choose to be negative and complain, please LEAVE so the rest of can be surrounded by individuals who care and are willing to do whatever it takes to succeed.

Agreed this is a place to vent concerns because if you tried to do that on a Jnj conference call or if you constructively express concerns you are labeled that is a fact.

The concern is not that the griping is bad it is that the company is not adjusting to the market situations, not innovating and does not have a long term strategy. Why are other companies growing at 20% (for example intuitive) and above and Jnj is growing at .09%.

Why is it that Covidien is winning lawsuits against ESC, creating wireless devices that work, Jnj has done NOTHING with sterilmed, and Jnj is not innovating or changing the game.

"showing up differently to the customer means taking erosion on price with every GPO.

Being concerned about a company you like and want to see succeed, BUT clearly is not thinking long term strategy will lead to failure.

That means more restructuring, more expected with less, frustrated customers, Everyone in a habit asking for lower prices until margins are so thin Jnj consolidates and lays off more.

Looking out for yourself and the future should be a concern to everyone, especially with a generation of account managers and pharma reps being hired and talented experienced reps leaving.

J&J has being doing things with SterilMed. They just did a mass layoff, and are starting to co-package new EES products with reprocessed products. I see in the near future that most of the sales for reprocessed will be done by Ethicon

I feel sorry for you if the "home office" you work in is the Customer support center......they don't know anything about the crap we sell any more than reading package inserts!! No thanks, I can read it myself.......what a complete waste of money sitting in that department........hey ESC, time for an internal audit.
