Hey guys... I'm on round 2 of being a new pharma rep with Actavis, Brian Connor as my manager... any thoughts? Having a hard time deciding if I want to get into the industry or not.

He is a great guy and manager. He had a lot of reps who were wimps and couldn't take it. Work wasn't in their vocabulary
Run as far from this company as possible. There is no future here! This organization is run by the lowest of life on this planet. Leadership is terrible and without heart or soul. Pharma as whole is a dying industry - Actavis / Forest are the people leading it to it's death. Find another company - if you come here here, you will sell your soul and eliminate your prospects for sales opportunities in the future. Take this as a word to the wise. BC is already dead - don't do the same.
All the managers are cut from the same cloth at this company - if you want to get a fast pass toward depression this is your ticket. I can't imagine a company worse suited to develop sales professionals. Especially, if you are in the Houston Region and stuck under Tyke Posey / Dan Turnbull "leadership". What a joke - the only thing you're going to learn from these inept managers is how to kiss ass and step on people that threaten you because they're more talented and driven...
LEADERSHIP just caught this evil post. PLEASE TOTALLY IGNORE. We look forward to your interest in OUR COMPANY ! We have world class employees who are driven by integrity, hard work and a meritocracy. Those who produce are richly rewarded. Unfortunately there are disgruntled posters 'out there' who just like to spread ill-will. You, no doubt are a winner and already know that. the pharma industry is indeed dead. Getting in will only limit your opportunities going forward. This company represents the worst this dying industry has to offer. If you are compelled to get into medical sales, devices or equipment might be a slightly better path. Better yet, veterinary sales is best - no managed care and an all cash business. Actavis / Allergan will truly suck the joy out of life for you.
Funny how flippantly they use the word "leadership". This is a quality that is demonstrated. Just because you have the title "regional director" doesn't equate to leadership. In fact, the mass exodus of exceptional reps from the Houston area clearly speaks to the contrary. MANAGEMENT does not = leadership... at least in Houston. Isn't it funny how everyone that has left your "leadership" are now happier and making more money with their new positions than they were under your LEADERSHIP....
