Good people leaving. ML in commercial, JJ in r&d, DR in compliance, VC in legal and so on. Isn’t the whole point of hr to retain good people? What is hr doing?

Why did they let go Vandana from Legal and Didi from Compliance?

HR is just another echo chamber that has so much issues internally. It’s actually better that they stay out of it.

They quit! They weren’t let go.
Just like Neveen in finance they couldn’t deal anymore.

Abuser? Pierre-Louis or Gus? What are either of them abusing?

People come to work to do their jobs. If you feel someone is not doing their job then say something. This is the problem. Everyone complains behind the scenes versus vocalizing the issues at hand to the broader organization. If there is an issue then call it out so that it can be resolved. The next year is too critical.
We need to work together not be in opposition with one another.

If someone was let go they wouldn’t stay for 2 months before leaving.

That's the case all over the place here: Good people who were great at running their departments were forced out because they were associated with the old regime, and that's a threat to Wa'el's ego.

It’s simple, here, only hard working people are attacked and pushed out. If you are lame you will be fine. Lesson is to do less, talk more especially to HR, and start gossiping, you are golden.

The fact that all these people who resign and are leaving after the holidays so they get free one day pay shows that they are penny collectors.

There is no one to talk to. Where do you go? No one is crazy enough to go to HR. They only believe off the wall and crazy stories that is so outrageous it belongs on TV.

    We need hotline to Otsuka.

Yes, Lisa Locklear started less than a year ago and 7 people in Finance left the department. She asked in a department meeting that why people would want to be promoted. She would not promote anyone. She would only do so if people would take on more work. The fact was people already took on more work from people who left and their headcount were cut. An AP staff left the department right after this meeting. She bullied everyone under her including the nicest Controller CW. She spent half a million dollar over budget on PWC to evaluate the team and their only conclusion was she needed to get rid of some good people including AE, ME, HT. I felt sad that they were put into situations that they had to leave, they just couldn’t take it anymore. Those were the people who stayed and contributed to the company ways more than Lisa Locklear. She started less than a year and had many vacations, each was like 2-3 weeks.

Hotline to Otsuka? Here you go:

Below I've pasted the website to send anonymous info directly to Avanir's parent company in San Francisco, Otsuka America Inc., but you MUST choose carefully when picking "organization". In the "Enter Organization Name" field be sure to choose "Otsuka America Inc.". DO NOT CHOOSE "AVANIR" (that just routes back to Avanir Compliance). Also, DO NOT CHOOSE "OTSUKA AMERICA PHARMACEUTICAL, INC.", as that routes to Princeton/Kabir. So choose "Otsuka America, Inc." in the Org. Name field, click "Submit", and then choose "Otsuka America, Inc." again from the giant list that pops up. This is automatically routed to Toshiro-san, head of OAI in San Francisco, Avanir's parent company. It is also auto-routed to the VP of Internal Audit at OAI who's in charge of investigating such stuff. Importantly, IT IS NOT ROUTED TO AVANIR, or to Wa'el's boss in Princeton, Kabir, or to Princeton in general - it goes immediately above them. It bypasses Avanir entirely. This is anonymous as long as you don't do it from Avanir or on your Avanir laptop

    Website address: https://secure.ethicspoint.com

**REMEMBER** - Under "Enter Organization Name" you MUST put Otsuka America, Inc., NOT Avanir, and then choose "Otsuka America Inc." from the search list that comes up. Please only submit serious issues of concern on through this mechanism. Don't use it as another version of CafePharma just to complain about people. The OAI folks have enough to do just investigating actual issues. Still, some of the stuff mentioned above would be of interest to OAI. We all assume that the higher-ups in SFO and Japan know every little thing that goes on here, but I can tell you from experience that that's not the case, and they appreciate it when people up and down the org chart help them with their oversight responsibilities, so if you have stuff to tell them, do it. You don't have to give your name if you don't want to.
