I am looking at making a transfer from the South to Ohio; I have elderly parents and in-laws that are in very poor health. I should be able to transfer into a cardiovascular specialty pharmaceutical position with my present company. I have spent my entire pharmaceutical career in the south and have enjoyed great access and lately declining managed care coverage. Can I get some insight on physician access, state of managed care coverage and any other pros or cons to help make an educated decision. I appreciate all serious responses

Hi! Ohio has a rough managed care landscape to be honest. Our medicaid formularies are terribly restrictive and prior authorizations are a nightmare. Access seems to depend on the areas. Cleveland clinic offices are pretty restricted. The Columbus and cincinatti areas seem to have better access than akron/canton, youngstown/warren, or even Cleveland .

It all depends on where you are going.
