Tritanium Cup recall

    joint disease hospital in New York City has pulled the stryker tritanium cups (primary ) off-the-shelf ..
    This was a hospital decision due to excessive failure at six months ..
    Radiolucent lines with no ingrowth
    Again this was not a company decision but a hospital decision ..
    Which is worse, I think you know the answer ...

    All cups some small degree of failure. When failure happens, it just seems to be aseptic loosening without significant cup migration. Maybe some startup pain present only. I have personally had three major catastrophic failures with Tritanium shells out of about 120. These failures come late. The cup looks Okay but at three months or so and then at about the one and a half to two year mark my three failures were found to migrate past medial wall despite being secured with a screw. Revised two out of three with Smith and nephew Redapt Cup and locking screws. The third one is in Canada. Anybody else have similar experiences?
