Right. I would look elsewhere too. This "event" will cause people to quit. It will cause an already bad reputation to get worse and they still may be getting fined by the OIG. It is messed up either way.
I believe they probably closed their doors yesterday. The easiest way to do it without people getting too upset at work was to leave them with some false hope, imo. Really? We will call you if we need you next week? I think they knew they wouldn't be calling. They got as much work as they could out of people as they could. This is all my opinion, but it sure makes logical sense. Time will tell I guess.
