This is NOT a sales job! This is a computer job for reps that like to sit home on their butts and work the AMU game. Just embarrassing. RC encourages everyone to work the system.
RC would rather go out to party every night that learn to be an effective leader of true sales people. A joke! Better hope we don't get another product that needs real technical skills.

No love in this division. Why do you want to promote a cheating rep to management? Don't you get it , NOBODY wants to work for her! Disgusted.

What is the base pay range for the expansion reps?

I was called on the expansion and would like to hear from current reps about the future growth of this treatment for OAB. One of my Urologists was not too keen on the product because of urinary retention (he said catheter needed) low reimbursement, and other treatment options. He did say it was worth consideration in some patients. This is one physician's opinion and I've heard from current reps that the treatment is catching on and is a great product. Any opinions are appreciated.

Product is good but low reimbursement which equals slow growth. The Company and incentive plan is laughable. Management is the worst in the business. This division is centered around a dumb leader, RC, whuch is only concerned about making his numbers. He doesn't care if the numbers are from neurology or cosmetic, just count them as urology. He is unethical and wants us to be too. Just hanging on here until a better opportunity comes available.

Instead of bashing and not backing up statements with some factual merit, please expand on what is laughable compensation wise. I'm looking here and would like to know if the money is comparable to what I am doing now. Is the range 100-110 or more like 130-150 total comp? I make most of my money commission wise now and I'm on the higher end, but daily numbers and your only as good as today mentality take toll on you and your family. I'm even willing to take a little bit of a cut for quality of life, and what might be better and benefits as compared to a small device company. I'm not into the negative stuff, just facts. I'm not worried about my ability to perform and bring numbers in, I just want to know how direct reports (DMs) and comp plans are. The people up top don't mean much to me in my day to day since our immediate manager is the one who is the face of the company for us. Thanks in advance.

You will not get a quality of life increase here. Yes, base pay might be higher than your small device company but you will be beat to a near bloody pulp trying to keep up with collecting 'allocations' documentation. The bonuses are capped. Very poor leadership from the top VP MF to the clear coat car salesman RC. That has impact on what you are calling face of Allergan, your ASM. This place is a pressure cooker with a primary care mentality. Best of luck to you.

Allocations are laughable. Reps getting credit for whatever they want and RC encourages it. If you are great rep, don't come here. Quotas and allocations are a joke. And RC just promoted the biggest cheater in the company. Bad position unless you like to coast.

I don't think some people realize how good they have it at certain places. I'm not saying it's great here, because I'm not in the fire, I'm just an observer at the moment. I'm just trying to learn more. My question is, if you are performing is this a 150K+ position?

Here is what the real world in medical sales can look like:
Base: 40-50k, huge territories with multiple states, expensive benefits that are less than stellar, decent car allowance but when you put 40k in mileage yearly on your own car, with upkeep and depreciation you lose a lot of $, high pressure numbers...you don't perform you're gone. Little to no vacation, and when you do take it you lose money. Small budgets, they expect miracles with little support.
Pros: You can make a lot of money. You gain a lot of confidence with success, and your sales and people skills evolve at a rapid pace. You know what you're selling and when you get credit for it. You get paid commission (not bonus) monthly. If you're good you become an asset to your customers.

I'm assuming you get at least 3 weeks vacation from the start, Fleet vehicle, decent 401k, tuition reimbursement, small territories, base of 100k, awards? Anything that I left out? Be honest with yourself, there has to be some pros that even the mistreated, or jaded people can think of. Urology is a great group of specialist to call on.

Negatives: from the board it looks like senior management perceived as less than stellar and lacking in integrity. That seems to be the norm at any large company I've looked at and worked for in the past. Goals or allocations (could you explain further?) seem out of alignment.

In speaking with my accounts, a number of them use Botox or are very interested. They see it as another tool, something they can offer so they don't have to refer patients out. The reimbursement seems to be the major hurdle. They need proper training from go. But, this isn't just a once and done procedure, if you can get patients into the office for treatment twice a year and sell it as a yearly revenue and a growing/compounding population, practice executives should be very open to the pitch. It's added revenue with little to no capital investment. Am I missing something here, am I taking a too simplistic approach?

Thank you to those who have taken the time to reply, I appreciate it.

    GREAT POST!!!

I am in medical device and you are dead on. At my company, we have monthly reports that are NEVER looked at and are all BS because no one dares to speak the truth.

I don't want to expand too much on this other than to say this is a very negative account of what the Urology team is. There are many people in this business unit that like working here very much. Myself being one of them. Interview for the position, if you get an offer and decide to take it don't become one of the complainers that make up these posts. decide to be happy and if for some reason you are not, there are other options.

    Amen!

It's laughable that all these self-perceived "amazing" reps have been mistreated, cheated, and feel this is a horrible job but choose to stay here and collect a check. Maybe the complainers need to move on to a place where they are appreciated and compensated to a level they feel is fair.

An honest opinion on this company and division -- it's a great place to work and the people including most reps, managers, and senior leadership are all great people. Of course there are going to be things that you want to bash your head against the wall about, but the most part they are small and very manageable. The best reps are the ones who understand what the limitations are, deal with them, and move on without crying like a baby.

The total comp for this job seems to range from 120 - 180. Don't let a bunch whiny crybabies stop you from applying and checking things out for yourself. I can say my manager is great -- realistic, helpful, and doesn't micromanage me at all.

LMAO. Your bonus depends on how well you work the allocation system not how hard you work. So if you can put up with a crappy system that determines your bonus, then come on over. I would definitely talk to some of the Reps that came from outside of this company first.
