Working for Vertex is great in the beginning, but then things quickly change. You are offered a competitive salary, told you can work from home, work while commuting, and won't have to put in more than 40 hours per work. How things quickly change once you are there. You are stuck with tight deadlines, work more than 70 + hours a week, without additional compensation. If you factor in your salary with the long hours of work, you could be a manager at a fast food restaurant and be paid the same. The culture is cut throat, every employee is trying to move up, and push you out.

it's cutthroat for sure, management is terrible, and executive leadership focused on their expensive sports cars, portfolios, and the perks of the seaport.

The golden handcuffs are only so good....they tarnish as soon as you realize you're just a number, micromanaging bullies are cheered on, and projects (deliverables and timelines as well as "team participation") are a joke

I heard from a friend who is a Director there that there is going to be a major reorganization soon. Get out while you can!
