Third party vendor cannot consider ratings due to subjectivity which could expose a company. I understand that ratings are used to motivate people to stay or demotivate people to quit. Patterns from ratings can create biases. High salary and low salary employees are displaced as part of age balance.

Third party is retained to only look at objective measures which are critical for compliance as an entity contracting with government payers. Attorneys from third party review and share with client. Client attorneys review and sign off. It is a legally objective process.

I am amused to recall how often at ViiV i heard mgt talk about hiring peopke with “good work ethics” and i just scratch my head at the irony (most ironically from a particular mgr that prides self on being a super christian). How can anybody have a good work ethic in a work environment that is designed by the company to demand false call reporting, fake success stories, and impossible productivity tracked daily on Sneeza? Then i watch the same few old dogs with sharp elbows win praise and prizes from some really stupid managers that give the praise for non-business reasons. Mind blowing what liars and hypocrites GSK/ViiV has cultivated.
News flash: most reps will work hard but not in a rigged game like viiv has developed. I just walked, you should too. Plenty of good jobs with much better companies is what i discovered during my search. Leave the scraps for Gilead to destroy the rest of the way.

maybe viiv managers can escape back to their skill level and get their jobs back pushing sensodyne, tums, and feminine hygiene products. Hurry the drawbridge is about to go up with the merger at consumer.

Yep, once they took the “sales” out of these sales jobs, they lost us. 3 per POD was a huge mistake, only confounded by the idiotic belief that 2DR would be adopted. A complete failure, Gilead is laughing to the bank......

Most of us in sales at ViiV will be gone by this time next year. DTG/3TC launch failure will be nail in coffin.

Is gsk still under a CIA which prevents them from paying on sales or does the company just think it’s immoral to pay sales people on sales?

In pharma the layoff was largely based on rankings last 3 years. After that there were some random picks. But largely on rankings.

DTG/3TC expectations have been so tempered by the Juluca launch, I fear a 1 rep. per territory model and a 2/3 sales force reduction.

I am a pharma client recruiter (wanting to see measurable, documented, individual success). I do research and do view Cafepharma as some posts on every company site is telling.

    Here’s my take:

    1. ViiV Account Managers don’t sell under GSK: pods of 3 reps, not measured by sales attainment, ratings determined by first line manager.

    2. Bonuses are based on National Sales performance: impossible to objectively determine what individual contribution means.

    3. ViiV and GSK reps like this model with no accountability for results: is difficult for this person in specialty sales, hospital, medical where individual contributions determine pay and ratings.

ViiV is not the only company who does this.

Bravo to get paid bonus regardless and be comfortable with that. Specialty pharma wants something other than complacency.

We know this. This Socialist system sucks, but because of it and what you just noted, it is very, very difficult to compete to get a job at a better company. We have little quantifiable to show the hiring manager. Saddest part is we compete against a true Capitalist model in Gilead, where their reps are judged and heavily rewarded on sales. That is why they are absolutely crushing us.

We are being crushed due to no incentive to sell as I won’t make a dime more or less than anyone in my region, plus the 2DR is not what the market or customers want. We gave the market to Gilead, not that they needed help. Now with DTG/3TC we will have another dog on hand. Merry Christmas Gilead compliments of your friends at ViiV

I am hopeful we will not have layoffs but am always keeping my eyes open.

My concern though is that Juluca sales have not kept up with the relative slow growth of Tivicay/Triumeq and the decrease in Epzicom. In fact it has not if you look at quarterly earnings reports over the past year or so. Pre Juluca (and Biktarvy) the DTG franchise was doing better.

Going all in on 2DR is going to bite us with DTG/3TC even with new start potential if we walk away from Triumeq. I bet even if Triumeq contained TDF instead of ABC it would clobber the 2DRs.

We are getting clobbered. I just want to know what the severance is going to be for those that get let go.

There will be no layoffs at ViiV. HIV and 2DR will continue to drive growth.
Our jobs are safe. So many negative people who wish the future was bright as it is at ViiV. Most people I know want Juluca and not Biktarvy.

what will severance be for those of us laid off in sales? 1 week for every year of service? When will cuts be made? What % will be cut?
