While I've no idea if the OP is "false news" or not, unfortunately Novo is ripe for a restructuring/reorganization/rightsizing/downsizing/layoff. I think we can all agree on that.

In the past, I've worked for a company (not in big pharma) where boards like CP existed. Although there was always a boatload of BS posted on them that turned out to be false, there were also rumors posted that turned out to very accurate.

Wish it wasn't so, but it is. Hopefully the first post in this thread is a hoax, but I've seen too many times when posts like it turned out to be true. Good luck and God Bless all of you.

Here's the truth of it. Either nothing is happening on July 1st, or every single person in senior leadership in this company is a liar and complete fraud. That's really what you're choosing to believe here - we've been told time and time again that we have no lay-offs planned. You can either believe that or believe that you're being told 100% lies right up until the second they lay you off. There are probably people on here in both camps. July 1st will be a tell-tale day for us. We've either been told the truth or we haven't. If the company chooses to lie to its employees and lay them off, I think people would happily take their severance and walk away if we're being run by a complete pack of liars. Or you'll keep your job and move forward. Either way, we win.

They could be lying, that is true. But if you think that we are right-sized for the pos 2016 biosim world, you, madam/sir are fooling yourself. Ask a former IDCS what access was like for them. Ask (after swearing that you will not tell a soul!) your colleagues that have offices affiliated with teaching centers how often they get to see those docs if they don't have a lunch scheduled. Why the hell do we need 3 reps covering areas that have crappy access?
Your AEs? Ask them how often they see decision-makers at their plans. Ask someone that has recently resigned what their day-to-day was like. Do we really need armies of people "working" 3 days a week for 3-5 hours (including drive-time) a day?

And as for DBMs- in my area, many offices don't even allow DBMs to cross the threshold. But at least my district has more than 7 reps. Many companies' managers have 8-11 reps, but here at NNI we have districts with less than 7? That is an incredible waste of $$$.

We're not going to be able to jack up our prices as much as we did in days of old. Bios Lantus is really, and I mean really going to take off next year. What the hell do you think our geniuses are gonna do to face the coming storm? Cut back on Christmas gifts? Switch to cheap Fords as company cars? Cut bonuses and raises? Maybe yes to all of the above, but there is a more obvious solution that can save dozens of millions virtually overnight.

What about the plan to call on cardiology? That's going to be a great success....not.

Cardiologists want to write in the chart 'refered to IM or endo for DM management'. They, as a whole, won't want to prescribe a drug that will affect blood sugars without sending back to IM. Who is legally responsible for the hypos?!?!

Ask your new Novartis selling Entresto how easy it is to see busy Cardiologists. Keep in mind that those guys are selling a new drug for heart failure, and they have trouble. Guess what will happen when we show up shilling a GLP1?

I've heard managers say the famous statement of "We have no layoffs planned" at another company.

What a shame they didn't finish that sentence with these words "at the current time, but the situation is very dynamic and could easily change very quickly."

Many of us here came from BMS and Pfizer. Think about what we were told right up to 1-2 months before the big downsizing was announced. If its crappy outside and all of your Honey-Due list is done, you can even go back to old CP posts at those companies, and read the company PR machine, throwing out the same stuff
    • My manager says that we are finished with cuts for the next 3 years
    • Anyone can see that we are almost half the size we were 5 years ago. We are all fine, don't listen to the AZ trolls coming on here to stir us up!
    • We'll be launching a [insert name] in a few years. Our leadership team knows that they will need our relationships with [insert specialists] to help this be the blockbuster they expect it to be

You're wasting your time. No one, and I mean no one believes that they will be cut. Let them wallow in ignorant bliss. But come back here after we have a layoff. They will blame the ramp-up of DCAs, DEs, and AEs, Obamacare, ANAJ or his wacky Jerzey Boyz, the past two CEOs.

This is like watching two trains coming at each other full speed on the same track. It's like watching a NASCAR race... YOU hope that somehow they will be able to stop, or that nobody will have a wreck. The funny thing is you KNOW it's coming, but can't seem to look away. And then out of nowhere. The proverbial "$h1t" hits the fan. And everybody says "What happened" as Wall Street and NVO bag up the cash and move on to the NEXT Qtr.

for those who's "head is in the sand"(as is being referred), I just hope your type are the ones axed. This is real and long overdue! Those mass hirings of yrs. past ( which were not necessary) are coming to roost, for all the valid points made in previous posts.

Why do you hope for anyone to lose their job? What's wrong with you? Does being an asshole somehow make things better around here?

Man! Did you ever hit the nail on the head!

I cant tell you the number of people that I knew at another company I once worked for who suffered from "It's not gonna happen to me! I wont be cut." syndrome. I couldn't understand why or how they developed that attitude, much less understand why they'd even share their opinion with their peers.

Absolutely no one was more shocked (not to mention pissed off) when they were shown the door. They were the biggest and loudest screamers of all of the victims of the layoff.

Here's the scoop. Straight up. No lay offs in 2017. Not this year. The hammer drops next year. Book it. Inside source. Too many promises made to investors this year and they can't stumble again. Shit hits the fan 2017. Guranteed. We will take Q3 and Q4 on the chin. Now many dms will continue to be morons and think they will continue to manage with 4-5 people while the other managers have 9-12. This year will just give them hope. 2017 it ends. They are paying us to interview.

Remember - the IDCS team was constantly told the LTC channel was "profitable." They even had a Market Access webex the Friday BEFORE they were laid off the following Monday. Do not believe anything the ET says regarding layoffs. One bad financial report and things can change in an instant. (And spare us the hospital access bullshit)

Its both denial and wishful thinking. But I get it: in most of the country you can live like royalty on a SAE or even a DCS (with 15 years) salary. Lets also point out the obvious: for pulling down over $110,000 with a suh-weet benefit package, look at how "hard" most work. How many calls can we actually make if we're in the field between 8:30-5:00 every day
but don't have any lunches scheduled? How many times have they heard that Victoza 30 second blurb? We have the single easiest 6 figure job on the planet. As a result, whenever it is hinted that our jobs may be going away, we hunker down and deny, deny, deny.
