Are these the same "new products" that have been promised for the past three years? How many are new and how many are line extentsions?

You do know that many of the people in Bldg. 200 have been field sales reps right?

That is true but they were mediocre at best at sales. Don't believe Joanne, Parks, Amat, Hexamer did too much bag toting. The ex sales reps in Bldg. 200 have distinquished themselves by screwing up the healthcare sector for the past ten years and still holding their jobs. Nice work!!

    Here's a thought:

How about actually telling the sales force what they need to do to be promoted and make more money? And no, hitting your number isn't enough, been there and done that. They have "Promotion Council" in March and October and lately it has been some magical Top 10 or Top 20 ranking, depending on who DP wanted to see get promoted, that gets you the promotion. We are in sales for one reason, money. I'll guarantee you that not a single person knows what the promotion criteria is coming up this month, not one.

As for the combining of the bags, anything is possible. K-C goes through a re org every 3 years or so. It wouldn't make a lot of sense to combine the bags again and would cause a revolt on the supply side. However, it is quite strange that they have not replaced a single marketing person, on both the upstream and downstream side. There are a total of 5 folks on both sides and that includes Directors. Not good, especially given that the device side is supposedly launching several new products at some point.

This makes absolute sense and in most "real" medical devices companies you would recieve this information. David Park's theory on promoting people on applied to reps who had made Club One the previous year or to go outside. He did not take in the body of work that a person may have had, only the one year. He did this with promotions to director of sales and region managers, but what would you expect from a person who had never carried a bag. Thank Good and Greyhound, he is gone.

I guess new marketing people count as new products? New means they don't know jack shit about medical devices, so go another year with the same old worn out products!!

Do you think that new products magically pop out of the asses of marketing people?

You truly know nothing about how things work.

Quit whining. Your job is to go out and sell, new products or not. Perhaps you need an office job. KC has people year in and year out that consistently hit their number. Perhaps you should consult with them and find out how they're doing it.

If you say you can't, it really means you won't. How about a positive attitude and just go out there and kill it. Hard work pays off.

This is a pretty good place to work. Every company has issues. If you think it's better somewhere else than perhaps you should go.

If its so bad here perhaps you should look for a job at Starbucks. Try supporting a family on $10 an hour. You really don't have a clue and should be happy with what you have. People would kill for your job.

Is that why you left Costcos? It is idiots like you who think the market is ripe for a 30 yr old product, or maybe you are in management or marketing so that you don't have to carry the bag! Take another big gulp of the KC Kool Aid!!!!!!!!!!!

If new products feed a successful company then we are staving to death. Where are the Perc Trach Kit, the Hi Lo Suction tube and anything else they can call new. Oh, I forgot we have the Transformation Team which doesn't know doodle squat about what the market place wants. This BS is just another way for Joanne to cover her ass so Tommy Falk will keep the stock options coming!

You have to realize that kc has a moderator on this site to level out the negative comments. Management and marketing will survive they do not sell, no how to sell, or have to sell this crap...
