-The Rock is just playing the game.

Everyone knows this job is ridiculous however there are layers of other jobs that depend on the field sales folks. Marketing egotist like Kaya are running (better stated, ruining) the show. They are over educated naive narcissistic individuals who have witnessed dog and pony shows displayed for them because everyone knows what they want. They obtain data mined from consultants to fit their agenda when reality stares them in the face. Managed markets determine what is prescribed, oh wait, it’s efficacy. I don’t think we need an MBA to tell us that if something does not work it will not be utilized. Maybe we can video ourselves for a half hour each day for Kaya and her little empathy friend.

We hire reps and $100k+ per year is the only way to get a motivated, college educated person to "play the game" (of pretending they have any control over their numbers, when in reality they have none), and actually going out and collecting signatures, when the average person would be completely unmotivated due to lack of control over anything and unwanted/stepped on by 90% of the people they interact with all day. The average person at an average salary would just sit home and record fake calls because they can. Until there is no need at all for drug reps, they will need to be paid 6 figures (plus perks) because anything less than that is not enough to get someone decent to put up with the fake everything and never ending bullshit of this job. If there was a way to pay reps less and not lose $, im sure some drug company's six sigma would have figured it out by now. Nobody wants to lay reality on the table, managed markets determine the success of a territory.

So just relax, play the game with the Rock.

Kaya and Lundbeck Marketing are not managing anything as Otsuka makes all of the decisions. Lundbeck barely even has a seat at the table. Btw where did Kaya come from anyway? Has she ever even been in the field?

So you’re telling me that managed care coverage determines success? What!!!!! All this time I thought it was how many programs you did, and how much extra crap you volunteered to do! When did this new paradigm change to managed care being the end all to be all???

‘Everything the above poster said, is of course, true. He/she left out a few things though, but no need to beat a dead horse. Maybe JA will announce a cut back of 50% or more in field sales. Probably not because that would put a lot of the HO people out of work like old Tres. Now if it were the old pro here making decisions, I would get rid of all of us, myself included! I would go completely full CSO for field sales. Fire some of the dead wood in upper management, possibly renegotiate with Takeda and Otsuka, cut SG&A to the bone. If it didn’t work, go back to the old way or come up with something new. Why pay us to no longer be effective, if we ever were!

Things must change dramatically for Lundbeck to make it. Companies with great pipelines will be fine, but they too need to re-evaluate themselves going forward.

What leverage does Lundbeck have to renegotiate with Otsuka? What does Lundbeck have to offer? Lundbeck is a CSO.

Maybe Arena will discuss when we’re going back in the field and what that will look like moving forward. It will be difficult for many of us as summer camps are hard to find for those of us with young children. Plus how many offices will actually let us in the office???

We should go on strike to stay at home! We never want to go back to the field again! I absolutely love sending out emails, laying by the pool, going to lunch with friends, sending out another email, calling an office to say Hi, going to the gym, gardening, etc. Don’t they understand that we don’t have time to work dealing with all this stress??? Don’t we get paid tomorrow? Yippee!!

A 4 year degree post high school is not impressive and worth at most a 50 K salary. And that’s if you are actually smart with a BS in a STEM field.
