The Mass lawsuit is the Sackler's worst nightmare. They have enough money and no worries - except that they end up with jail time. A Roger Stone like perp walk is coming? Will the FBI storm their compounds in Greenwich, NYC, etc...??

Way too many friends in high places, money slipped under the table, donations to the powerful. Guarantee there will be a backdoor deal they will never see a jail cell! Not gonna happen! A settlement maybe but guaranteed their wealth has been sent off shore and they will be just fine!

Russ will have to sell his yacht to pay for his legal defense and may still go to jail.

There would be no sweeter justice than Russ in an orange jumpsuit! The part about him wanting to fire a whole district in 2012 because they couldn’t sell more opioids is so typical of the ahole he became after the greed took hold and he thought everything the sales force touched should become another OxyContin! Remember his on stage melt down over Spectracef?

I was at HO for years. Russ was a bit of a berserker for someone who prided himself on being in control.

I hope they hold the Sackler's personally responsible for what they have done. Richard, Jonathan, Kathe and MDA were all very intimately involved in the daily business. They, along with the executives - Baker, Mahony, Udell, Goldenheim, Freedman - made ALL the decisions together. Nothing was done without Baker and the Sacklers say, and the others were also part of all decision making. They ALL profited big time and it's time they ALL pay their dues.

I have not heard Stuart Baker's name recently. Is he doing ok? He seems to have escaped. And now his lackey, Tony Roncalli, is on the Purdue payroll directly. Someone should talk to him.

Right? How are these top tier executives who were hands on with all of this not also being held accountable? Glad they are going after the Sacklers, but these others also profited greatly off the backs of society.

And addicts just pivot to whatever is next available. History has proven you ALWAYS have and ALWAYS will. Now that REAL HONEST PATIENTS in pain cant get access to these medications, you track-marked junkies will turn sights to huffing jenkem! boo hoo....always someone elses fault, right?

Are you REALLY trying to justify the actions of THE MOST deplorable executive team and salesforce in pharmaceutical history?!?

Of course, addicts will pivot to whatever is available. That is not the point.

Purdue convinced doctors to prescribe Oxy for far too many legitimate patients (by bribing the FDA, by lying that 3rd party sources like AAPM, APS were 3rd party when they were actually financed by Purdue, etc etc, etc). These legitimate patients who were in pain would have been fine short term with 1-2 percocets 2x a day (total daily dose=20 mg) or 1 Oxy 10 mg 2x a day. That wasn't good enough for Purdue. Increase the dose! Increase the dose until the patient says thank you was the battle cry by Purdue executives.

To your next point, legitimate pain patients continue to receive their appropriate meds, just not at the exorbitant doses Purdue's salesforce constantly pushed for no other reason than to make exorbitant bonuses.

Pain patients DO NOT receive the appropriate meds. Prove me wrong. bnice attempt to speak on behalf of so many real pain patients out there. I'd wager you are either a victim blaming others or a lawyer getting paid to do it.
